Has anyone upgraded the hibernation place yet (with 50 gems)? Not that I have 50 gems at this point, but not really interested in saving them up if all it gives me is another 25 slots to save dragons in. I'm curious to know whether or not the actual building changes. Does it get bigger or change in appearance at all? Thanks!!
hiby stays same after upgrading Just upgraded the hibernation place for sciences sake: it doesn't change even the slightest bit (alas...) but you simply get 50 slots when you press view. Bit of a missed chance there for BFS. Though their idea of the hibernation place if nicely designed and well thought of and it really does help when your habitats are full and you still wish to breed with new dragons. I'm avbout to mail them this evening, so I'll take that up as well. Choice is yours if you really wish to spend 50 gems for 25 extra slots. I personally don't need them (never say never though), but that's just me....
Moon dragon .. I give up Sheesh! I have tried every combination over & over, even wasted money on gems to hurry things up and still no Moon dragon. I so wanted to have two Moons since I already have two Sun dragons. Well I'm done buying gems and will just wait it out hoping Backflip will be generous one day and surprise me with another Moon. lol
Greetings and gem giving question Hello DragonVale friends, I have enjoyed reading the posts and learning about the game since I started playing with my son at Christmas. Have continued playing, breeding dragons, building islands and giving gems. Still working on a Rainbow, have made 3 suns and 1 moon in the process, finally got a Panlong (Blazing and Mud both lev 10), and couldn't believe when I finally got a 2 hour timer with Air lev 10 and Mud lev 4 after trying for the Sandstorm off and on for weeks). Trying to breed for Seaweed have gotten too many Swamps, trying to breed for Iceberg/Frostfire have too many Ice fails. Would like to friend as many people as possible, save gems for the EBI or Dragonsai Tree so I can gift more gems each day. GC id and TA id are the same, texasted. I know without the tree you can give 3 gems per day but giving gems to the same three people is not always possible after 24 hours, sometimes it takes more than 24 hours, even up to 36 hours before the names are bright and can be gifted to again. The timers are perfect in the game for breeding, hatching and growing treats but seems to be so poor for gifting gems. Anybody have any ideas? Try for Rainbow and maybe a Moon will happen Bluefire and Crystal both lev 10 worked for me. Hoped for a Rainbow but was happy getting my first Moon and not a 4th Sun. Tell your breeding cave your hoping for a Rainbow and maybe you'll get surprised!

I have tired those I just can not get bluefire,sun,moon or panlong. I purchased panlong hard to get 100 dollars for gems.
Yeah, Thanks. I would have probably happily used those slots before when I thought I HAD to delete the bulk of my dragons in order to complete my shrines (thought I needed 50 dragons on the island at one time) when I really didn't need to, but now I barely need 3-5 spaces.
Cool, I'll add you now (homieomey), I really like the ideas behind your break downs for each island. Meditation walk sounds really cool. I have tried to theme my islands as well. I have a wild/jungle island, a fire/sun one, and one made up up mainly homes and decorations. As far as gifting goes, I have noticed the same thing that you have. I'm pretty sure all it takes is restarting your whole device since I rarely do that yet when I do I am always able to gift the people who I usually gift.
Borat visits DV? Agree. 25 dragons looks like more than plenty to me. But you know: there are some out there I'm sure who will find a purpose that we yet didn't. Then again, right now I don't feel like playing the smart guy and try to beat them to it. Just glad that I could put some of the given gems to communal benefit of "cultural learnings of Netherlands for make benefit glorious nation of Dragonvale".....
You help others who are in need of gems. And you are given gems in return by friends. So it's kinda what friends do: scratching each others back. And trust me, there's a lot of scratching.....

I am getting nothing but scorch/firefly still,so thought I would try a reindeer/poison for maybe a rainbow??? Read that somewhere....ha, another poison. Cold/scorch or firefly, or even ice plus either of the two hotties just keeps giving more hotties....hibernation cave is filling with hotties fast... shrine was activated ages ago, so no use there either. Time to breed a new cold dragon, don't know what else is left to do as Ive done back to backs in one cave since Frosty was released, tried different levels especially the fireflys...one of my colds is lvl 11 and bred many times with lvl 4 firefly to still only get more fireflies/scorches Really looking forward to someone (who's been trying forever) to post that they got it... @ Alyjens, another Bluey.....I would rather not get a 12 hr than have that happen twice....really sorry
I have a Moon, now need a Sun, how did you get your 4? Thinking I'd like to throw a crystal into the mix but a little nervous about getting a 24 hr wait.
Back to back Suns Very early on while trying to breed a Bluefire made two suns back to back in the regular breeding cave and had only 1 nest in the nursery. It stopped my breeding for several days but I was happy to get the rares. Fire lev 10 and Storm lev 10 gave me the first two suns, I change the next breeding pair and did not want to chance three in a row at the time. Cold lev 10 and Firefly lev 10 gave me the third sun. Bluefire lev 10 and Crystal lev 10 gave me the Moon, will try again this pair for a Rainbow. As others have posted it helps to try different combinations and I have begun switching up using some lev 4s instead of lev 10s.
This drives me nuts too. The timer should just reset at midnight or something. You would still only be giving out one gem to each friend per day. It drives me nuts having to wait exactly 24 hours from the last time you gave that person a gem.
My daughter only gets in the game every few days so I tend to gift her gems several days in a row before she will receive them. When she finally gets back on the game does she get all of the gems I sent over that time period or just the last one? (I'm usually at work when she finally plays.)
Oh Girlpower! I feel your pain! Lol! Bred a new Cold & leveled up a new scorch. Been doing back to back breedings using gems to speed thru. (thanks my DV friends )-now I have a 48 hr timer Never thought I would be annoyed with that.... Frosty has to come our way SOMETIME!!!!
Thanks Archer! The colouring was a pain, but my first Rainy was worth it. And yes, hate to say, but I'm pretty impulsive with my gems, very little patience, if I get em I spend em. Thanx so much my faithful DV friends! You're wonderful enablers! Here's hoping you get those Suns, Pans, and Sandies (me too) to spend your gems on!
It would be nice if it was easier to gift people. I record the people I get gems from but then in order to gift them back, I have to scroll through a long list of friends and search for individual names. It would be nice if we could just search the friends we want to give gifts to for the day and then be able to give them all a gem. It's gotten more grueling now that I have a gem tree and can give out 6 gems each day. Plus, they should change it so they record the recent people that have given us gems because it only gives us a few names of the people and then says "and others gave you gems". Does anyone agree or is it just me being too particular? I love giving gems to everyone that gives me them but it shouldn't have to be so difficult.
