I used cold and scorch both lvl 10and in that order, and was surprised when I got it on the second or third try Hope this helps everyone Now just need that darn sun!!!
I don't understand why people keep recommending crystals for rare dragons.... Worst breed wait time ever should it fail. I have all rares not using a single crystal
Just realized the hibernation caves cost is a reference to pi....and on another note I just got my first rare dragon-A PANLONG!!!!!
Feeling a little rant coming on Oh good grief, still no new dragons (except Iceberg, so not complaining there) and no rares (except Moon). Waah. Fogs and Muds are piling up. I'm trying Fog/Lava or Bone, occassionally Cold/Firefly or Scorch. Sometimes going for the elusive Sandstorm - my first was easy, isn't that always how it goes. Sigh. Hi guys! Really glad to read about all success in breeding and hatching. This game REALLY confuses me though. Thankfully it was a rainbow, not a fifth moon. Relieved. *haha* I have like my number XX iceberg egg in the nursery though. And I have kept a couple so I have habitat full of them. Don't know why?!? I'm like a bag lady, just collecting everything. I DO have at least one of each. Except that &#%} Frostfire... What's puzzling me now is park value. What's up with this?!? I've been having a 71 mill score for ages. Stable on that level for ever. Today I built my 25th habitat, put my third rainbow egg in nursery, moved the icebergs to one habitat, bought some flags, moved the Panlong to it's own habitat (water) and bought the hibernation and all of a sudden my park value is 543 mill. SAY WHAT?!? No!!! Promise, not complaining, just puzzled. *haha*
Congrats Osujxu! @Rattler-Glad you finally got your Pan, too! With all these successes, maybe BFS has increased the success % for breeding rares. Maybe all our vents were noticed? @Girlpower- thanks for waiting in the wings for me! I am going to try your Sandy suggestion. Frosty is still eluding me, even using crystals to speed thru failures. But now I'm stuck with a 14 hr wait We have to come up with a deserving name when we finally get our Frostys like you did for Thorn.
Well that's stupid... That would mean the crystal dragon bred with itself and the blue fire was there for... Moral support? I just put them together without a particular reason, just to try my luck with a rare. Guess I was certainly lucky to get the crystal on try one!

Hey Fox....sooo sorry, that's not good to hear The blazing/mud combo has also been a popular and successful choice for the Pan. Mine was lvl 4 blazing / mud lvl 10. I only tried this combo, but new dragons when I could, just kept doing back to back tries, any new blazings replaced the older ones and I bred from those. Can't help at all with that Frostfire, proving to be very elusive in my camp. Sandstorm....pls try lvl 10 air / mud lvl 4 (I had a new mud). I really hope your mini rant will bring much needed luck your way....seems to have also worked for a few of us now....my fingers and ‘toes' are crossed for you. Good luck, both these dragons can be difficult to breed especially the rainbow.
I think its random I have only been playing three weeks I love this game. I got the rainbow dragon I was not even trying. I can not get the moon,sun,panlong or sandstorm. I use firefly and ice but i can not get it to give me another rainbow dragon. You just keep trying. I wish you luck.
Update on progress Ok, so my 2nd Panlong is in the hatchery and both caves can be utilised for my Frostfire! I'm probably going to stick with Cold and firefly both lv 10 in one cave, and lv 6 cold and lv 10 scorch in the other! For those of you trying to Sun and/or Moon, any combination with cold and lightning has a chance to get one. It is even possible to get them with just cold and lightning, but this of course is über rare! Hope this helps! After I get a frosty, I will definitely need to gett cracking on that rainbow! (Finally) After having been complaining about there being to few dragons, now there's too many hard to get dragons!
Finally got the Hibernation Cave. Great idea, now we can save those high level dragons instead of selling them off to make room for babies.
Somehow I missed seeing your post earlier - thanks for the helpful suggestions girlpower! Totally appreciate the support. Interesting how combos that have one level 4 seem to work out. I'll give those a try and concentrate more on back to back Pan attempts as you did. With a few Sandstorm tries thrown in, of course. Can hardly wait for the latest 8 hr breeders to clear out so I can try again ..and again. Yeah. At least those 8 hr failures sell for $1mill later. Oh and it really blows my mind to visit friends' islands and see all their mutiple rares frolicking about! Crazy! I don't know how you all do it. Ok that's enuff for today, time to sleep... tomorrow will be better.. and don't worry, you'll be the first ones to hear when my luck changes. Anyone here playing bumping bears? It's a really sweet game..I'm surprised how no one on TA is talking about it..I saw a review for it on an app review site ( I think it might have been 148 apps) downloaded it and fell in love.. You have to raise bears on " bearth" which is like bear earth, it's a donut planet that you get to customize.. I love it.. Been playing for days and haven't made an IAP and never will.. It's one of those playable freeminums without paying..like DV.. I love dv but I've got all the dragons so I'm losing interest that's how my wondering ways gave bumping bears a go.
Ok.. do tell some of your dragon breeding combos. What worked for your Panlong, Rainbow, Frostfire, Sun and Moon? Obviously this is a thread about DV.
LOL, I had hoped this was the case (missed my post) I really hope something works for you real soon, been thinking of you all day The only triple rares I have (two unintentionally) are my moons.... but I am also in awe of many GC friends Islands too. Hang in there Fox, hope the link also offers up some helpful info. We should be here to share ideas, help, support and ride the highs and lows with others...otherwise what's the point. It's also much easier to empathize with others doing it tough when we have also been there.... Looking forward to hearing your good news post very soon
So, after getting a gazillion scorches and fireflies and a couple of lavas from breeding ice/scorch, ice/firefly, ice/fire, snow/fire, snow/scorch, cold/scorch bla bla bla for frostfire, I finally have a 12 hour breeding time in breeding cave, from a lvl 12 blue fire/lvl 10 fire. Probably another blue fire, but one should keep one's hope up, yes? My latest rainbow was a lvl 15 mud/lvl 13 blazing in EBI. And the icebergs, well they're all from combination ice/water in both cave and EBI, any lvl dragon really. Guess I'm made for breeding ugly icebergs. *sigh* Keep up the good work, I'm waiting for more frustration. *haha*
