Whatever happened to updating existing games with retina display? This is how the lazy, greedy developers are doing it now? What a CAVE move...
I'm sure it costs the deeloper at least something to upgrade all that video, re-encode it, and make sure all of the inputs are still timed properly.
Heh, I just rediscovered my old Dragon's Lair app yesterday, noted that it was never made for the wide iPhones, and checked the store for the date of the last update. It wasn't in the store, made me wonder why. Now I know. I'm old and like this game and will be it one last GDMF time. Then I will stop throwing money at this silly game.
My Momz mananged a pet store in a Texas mall and across the way there wuz thiz place that wuz always dark. It had these gigantic boxes with loud music with bleeps and blips that you put quarters into. So much fun taking time away from my Darth Vader action figure case. Tron
Well I've never actually played Dragon's Lair (I'm very young ) so I suppose this is a good a time as any to do so.
There is really no feeling like being in the arcades playing games, home consoles just can't give you that feeling, even having a cabinet in your room or garage isn't the same as having all the lights, sounds, smoke, people who look like they could rob you any second and other assorted arcade goodness. Im lucky and live by the coast here in the uk and we still have some arcades around. Mostly those coin pusher games these days but still some classics hidden around like super sprint, sega rally or the Simpsons.
Right. If the old version isn't iOS7 compatible, I'll be really annoyed. 1- not buying it again 2- it'll take up even more space
They really should have at least made this a universal app. I suspect the new release is due to an expired licensing deal with Electronic Arts and now they probably own the publishing rights to the iPhone version again. A number of ex-EA Mobile games are getting 'new' releases.
Great work. I already paid for the iPhone and ipad version. Then the iPhone version was removed in Australia. Now it's back and I'm expected to buy it again so I have a copy in my iTunes cloud as people rarely sync to PC. Shit form!
I'm torn on getting this I had the other Dragons Lair on iOS before they stopped that one, that was a great retro fix for me. This ones such a huge filesize i'm not sure whether to go for it or not This game was epic back in the early 80's, just blew away every other game graphically. I think however gameplay wise it wasnt the best, but it was one of those games you just had to try back then as it seemed so epic, an interactive cartoon kinda thing.
