Voice Acting (I think). Some people seem to be really butt hurt about its exclusion, though at close on 2 Gb anyway I can kind of see the reason for the omission.

I am in two minds between getting this or Record of Agarest War.

Wow, I would've been happy with an updated version of Dragon Warrior, the first game for the NES. But to think I'm playing a PS2 game on my phone is mind-blowing. 2 hours into it and I'm loving it so far. Kind of reminds me of Dark Cloud, that old PS2 RPG.

It says you don't have the correct weapon (axe) equipped, so you can't use it. Weird that isn't translated. I didn't notice that, probably because I always had the weapon I skilled up in equipped.

Switch to an axe if you want to use helm splitter.

Officially? "Eight". All of the DQ main characters, apart from Loto, are named after the number of the game they're in.

I have an ipad mini and its great. The controls u have to get used to but otherwise it comes easy with usage. Yes i notice the franerate but not enough to make me get mad. I have the ps2 also but to be able to play this anytime i want anywhere i want makes me love it more.

Its worth the price if you can drop $20. This company barely has sales so it might be a long time before a price drop.

both party members are level 8
i didn't grind for exp in the cave 'cos battles gived just a couple of exp points and it would take forever to level up some more.
i used only one medicinal healing potion
i waited untill one of my party members health was at limit then i used it, all the rest were just attacks

By the way, to all super heroic challengers: this game has been cleared with character levels Hero 6, Yangus 1, Jessica 38, and Angelo 14. If you can best that, record it for YouTube and the history books.

(Grinding in DQ is a choice, not a requirement.)

Yes that was the one. On the second try I got tension to 50 and lucky enough to don't get cursed because that resets the tension(power). At level 8 is not that hard or maybe 7.
I'm using the boomerang with main character and using skills for that and for courage and with Yangus humanity and axe.

I miss VA and will download that if one day is available but reading is fun too. Games like Sorcery are based on reading and enjoy that too.

for me is a choice becouse i like to grind in jrpgs. so for now i'll skip the record you mention. maybe after i complete the game and all the side-quests, i'll go for the record

i defeat the waterfall cave boss using just normal attacks and one healing potion, both party members have swords equiped and they do around 10-20dmg per hit. i didn't grind to reach level 8, i just level up from the battles in my way to the boss

Yeah, I spent endless hours on that one. Seems like a great fit for iOS. I'd probably end up fishing way more than I need to! Too bad we can't emulate it. But I can't imagine it would be that big of an app if someone decided to license it and rework it. Seems like a much smaller game compared to DQ8... which makes me excited to get through this day so I can put another couple hours on it tonight.

Unfortunately, Dark Cloud is a Sony IP, so it's very unlikely to be on iOS anytime soon. Funny this game is reminding people of that. The original coding, engine, and parts of DQ8's design (like the alchemy pot) were done by Level 5, the developers of Dark Cloud.

may be just becouse i can have this masterpiece in my pocket but i really enjoy it more then i enjoyed the ps2 version
and who has the space to put another 500mb-1gb (at least cos it may take even more space) for the extra VA. this is a brand new game remade for mobile phones and is for sure the best game available in the store
