Translation: I am very disappointed that this game is not being released in my region or country. Why is the game in portrait mode though? I own this and that is severely cutting out the viewing range in that viewing position. It's in portrait mode because that's how Japanese players prefer to play mobile games. DQ is always going to take care of the Japanese players first, since the series sells far better there than anywhere else. undeadcow Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2010 9,486 2 36 Houston, TX #13 undeadcow, Dec 12, 2013 Last edited: Dec 12, 2013 Does the Japanese App Store edition contain english translation text or is it japanese language only? I kind of wonder what they'll do if they do an English release. The Japanese version never had voice acting, so will they just leave it out of a theoretical English release of this App? kaibosh Well-Known Member Jun 14, 2012 582 0 16 #15 kaibosh, Dec 12, 2013 Whoever posted this, I hope you step barefoot on a LEGO brick in the dark tonight. We don't even have word that this will EVER be translated and released on this side of the ocean. I played this game until I fell over dead and then kept on playing. I hated it, I loved it, it was a stormy relationship where I came to realize that I was being abused but I kept making excuses for the black eyes and going back into her cruel arms. BoneyCork Well-Known Member Jul 23, 2011 246 0 0 #16 BoneyCork, Dec 12, 2013 This game has a terrible frame rate, even on my iPad Air, and it is completely portrait only which is understandable on a phone but weird on a tablet. It certainly isn't as easy on the eye as it should be. Also, as this is the original Japanese version of the game it's missing any sort of voice work, as that was only added to the western release. That said, I've played this enough times and know enough Japanese to charge through this. It's not watered down or anything, it's the full game completely intact. Whooo. S/E already have translated versions of DQ VIII. Also, every Japanese release in the Appstore was followed by an English release. From FF over TWEWY to Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana, everything got ported. Btw., 2800 Yen would mean USD26.99 or 19,99€. Royce Well-Known Member Mar 22, 2011 4,240 180 63 #19 Royce, Dec 12, 2013 I don't remember those being Japan only before worldwide release. We're they all? I also wonder why SE sees fit to release a Japanese language only game like FF Pictlogica worldwide, but only releases this in Japan. Vovin ð® Spam Police ð Nov 28, 2009 6,514 3 38 Germany #20 Vovin, Dec 12, 2013 No, not all, just a few. I was speaking more generally, that all ports and the games released in the Japanese Appstore also found their way to the western market(s). I guess the Japanese Appstore is some sort of testing ground for S/E, like other publishers use Canada for releases. But I might be wrong. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
