Is the cave inside of that first town considered the first dungeon? If so, I am able to Quicksave in the first dungeon at any time. Does that change later in the game?
this is the best dragon quest right? they been releasing dragon quest like every month. I thought sqeenix said there was going to be a final fantasy revolution. but they stopped at 6. where is FF7 :/
Eh, I'm not a big fan of DQ7. Best thing it accomplished was inspire the engine the DS versions of 4,5 and 6.

The answer is more complicated than you'd think! Dragon Quest 5 iOS is newer than Dragon Quest 8 iOS. The version DQ5 iOS is based on (the Nintendo DS remake) is newer than the version DQ8 iOS is based on (the PlayStation 2 original). Dragon Quest 5 itself (the original Super Famicom version) is 12 years older than Dragon Quest 8 (the original PlayStation 2 version). So... Yes! And No!
I love Dragon Quest games but I won't be buying this. I pretty much cannot abide their awful control system (assuming it's the same as IV and VIII). ..and locked to portrait yet again. Ughh. That said, should they patch it and enable controller support, I'll grab it immediately.

Relatively simple stuff like that, I know off the top of my head. A lot of the stuff you see in RPG Reload and some of the finer details in reviews are from research, both through the web and my own "archives" (for example, for differences between versions, I often boot up my original copies... even dug out my old GBA for DQ 1/2/3, haha).
Almost finished on my iPhone 6+ about 30+ hours in. It's runs perfectly. Things expand and detract to fill the screen as needed. Looks awesome.
I keep getting a "cloud authentication failed" message when I try and sync my local save to the cloud, any idea what this is about? I logged into my icloud account via settings and everything was fine...
No idea of the cause, but I got the same message a couple of times. For me, when I just retried it worked. Also a few times I've run into a problem where I sync, and I know for a fact that the iCloud save is newer than the save on my device, but when I go to sync, it claims the save on my device is newest and offers to upload it. Each time that happened, I just canceled and retried the sync, and the second time it correctly saw that the iCloud save was newer. So make sure you don't get in the habit of just hitting OK without reading the dialog and making sure what it's saying is correct, or you might end up overwriting your latest save with an older save.
