No cutscene or exposition at the start to familiarise you with the story and world. It just drops you in there abruptly. Also, feels like this was always developed as a F2P game and right at the end Netflix managed to land a deal. Still, early days. Hopefully the performance is improved via patches. Could be a half decent game then. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #3 ste86uk, Jul 30, 2024 @Rocksaint that’s a shame to hear, I’ve been looking forward to this one thinking it looked really good. anthony78 Well-Known Member Nov 13, 2015 3,128 703 113 #4 anthony78, Jul 30, 2024 You’d think it should have always been planned for Netflix with it being one of their own IPs. I haven’t watched the show so disappointing to hear that there is no real introduction. Guess that means it’s really geared towards fans alone. Rocksaint Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 666 367 63 #5 Rocksaint, Jul 30, 2024 Maybe if you ramp up the settings it still might. But at default settings, it feels pretty janky. I’ll play some more to see how it all progresses. But initial impressions are pretty average. Rocksaint Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 666 367 63 #6 Rocksaint, Jul 30, 2024 I doubt it’s geared towards fans as well. I watched season 1 and 2 of it. Got bored after that. But even for me, only thing relatable are some of the characters and few aspects about the world. I was expecting a more story-driven ARPG. Seeing what the game is actually based on. Perfect setting for a fantasy RPG. But it feels more like an average mobile RPG with the Dragon Prince IP. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #7 ste86uk, Jul 30, 2024 @Rocksaint never seen it and don’t care about the theme. I was more looking forward to the gameplay but maybe it was a bit ambitious of me hoping for something like an offline Diablo action rpg. Loved Diablo immortal and the story through the game. But didn’t find the endless grind end game so enjoyable. Rocksaint Well-Known Member Nov 29, 2013 666 367 63 #8 Rocksaint, Jul 30, 2024 Wanna know something amazing? This is online-only. Imagine that. Has a weird matchmaking kinda system before each mission. Played it a bit more and my opinion hasn’t changed. It’s worsened tbh. There is a way to improve fps in settings, but boy does it start heating the device fast. Poorly optimised. Overall, a very poor rendition of what an RPG can be based on the Dragon Prince world. Unfinished, unpolished and definitely rushed to release. And how can I be sure this was going to be a F2P game? Two currencies. A cosmetic shop for skins and pets. And they separately charge different currencies for different items. Another e.g. Gear upgrading. With a requirement of multiple materials. But the worst part is, there are a lot of high quality games that do pretty much everything better than this game. Even when you level up, you see icons with stats that almost look like placeholders from an alpha/beta build. If you have Netflix, no harm in giving it a try. But keep your expectations in check. That’s all I’ll say. ste86uk likes this. (You must log in or sign up to post here.) Show Ignored Content Share This Page Tweet Your name or email address: Do you already have an account?
