We're shooting for about 6 to 10 hours. Pretty short for a console RPG, but pretty dang long for an iPhone game. It's pretty hard for me to accurately gauge time on account of my knowing all of the game's secrets, but that's the goal! When we start beta testing we'll have a more solid idea of how long the game is for the average player.
Have you played Ash on iOS? That was one of the few original snes RPGs that I have seen done well. Is your game like that?
Yeah, it's got a good amount in common with Ash. Dragon Fantasy doesn't take itself quite so seriously - it's a lot more like Earthbound in that regard. We've got enemies like a vampire called a Sangria Enthusiast, and a flaming rock called the Hunka Burning Love, to give you an idea. It's not a parody of an RPG, but it definitely is going for light-hearted and humorous, while still epic
Its good to see more retro turn based games coming out, and this one is looking pretty good. Have you guys decided on a price for the game yet?
Is that Iolo's Hut he gets teleported to? Looks quite similar to Minimæ too, though gameplay seems a tad slower.
I'd never heard of either of those until just now (never played Ultima back in the day - I was an Enix fanboy)! And how did I never hear of Minimae? I spent months looking for some really old school style RPGs before I finally decided to say screw it and make one of my own
Honestly, no clue yet. No more and no less than the other RPGs in the app store is all I know for certain.

Bryan did that video after demoing Game Studio first. Of course, that only half explains the fingerprints... the other half of the explanation is that he'd been eating really greasy E3 food before hand I thoroughly smacked him around for that transgression

I am really looking forward to this game. My first RPG was Dragon Warrior because I got it for free for subscribing to NES weekly or whatever the magazine was. This remiunds me of it.
