Couple things I noticed in the Ander's story line. 1. When you use a Rope, it makes you pick which character. Seems a bit strange. 2. In Combat, if I select the wrong action for Anders, there doesn't seem to be a way to go back to reselect. Other than those, this is incredibly fun
New member Hi all - just found this forum a couple of days ago. The game is fantastic-I loved the old Dragon Warrior games. The only problem I'm having is that I am playing too much and sucking my phone's battery down quickly. Am looking forward to seeing more game info on here. Kudos to Muteki for creating it.
Yeah, both of those issues are things I'm aware of. I discovered the rope thing the day we submitted I just plain ran out of time (I wanted to make sure the update was out in September 'cause that's what the teaser picture had said), but both of those things will be fixed by 1.2, I promise And Darquinn, sorry about your batteries Glad you're enjoying it though! More is coming soon!
Alrighty, I know a decent number of people have been looking forward to this one feature in particular - it'll be ready for the next update!
Real quick - Dragon Fantasy is on sale this weekend for 99ยข in honor of the iPhone 4S release! This is our first sale weekend for the game ever! Tell your friends! Tell your phones! Use iMessage! Do whatever you have to do iTunes link - http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dragon-fantasy/id457690225?mt=8
Real happy to pick this up although I honestly don't need any more RPGs at the moment. I played for a little while and I have to tell you guys, the visual style is really fantastic. Frankly, I would be kind of reticent to say that a 16-bit style would improve the game, especially since the iOS market is so saturated with 16-bit style RPG games. Here's an idea though--if you keep adding new expansions, you could make those 16-bit? It would feel like an evolution similar to what we fans of RPGs like Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior went through from the late 80s to mid-90s.
Bought the game yesterday while it was on sale. I feel kind of bad because it's definitely worth at least $3. The only reason I can live with myself is because I pretty much only buy things when they're on sale now (sad, but true effect of my experience with the app store). This game is awesome. I have FF and FFII on my iPod, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to finish this first Amazing job on the game, guys. (And I'm only at the Marsh Castle or whatever it's called.)
That's the way I've been feeling lately too. The only games I try and actually avoid buying when on sale are games like this made by small developers (but I'm not faulting you for picking this up while on sale). I don't ever buy anything from EA or Gameloft now until their inevitable 99c sale.
Medianotzu: That's pretty much what I've decided on doing - chapter 4 is going to be 16-bit style, mostly because I'm pretty sure chapter 3 is the best looking I can make an 8-bit style game look without cheating too much I don't plan on going back and redoing the first three chapters - maybe someday as "remakes", but that would be in addition to the 8-bit versions. I'm REALLY looking forward to working with layers Ashflow: Thanks! It makes me super happy to have my game favorably compared to the early Final Fantasy games! And don't feel bad about buying it on sale - just tell two friends to also buy it! Actually, tell two hundred, why aim low?
What's up with the girl who you can walk through/can't talk to in Bluefin? (the red-clothed girl in Club P) Kinda weird if that's intentional, but just thought I'd ask. Also, how exactly do you trigger Spoiler the oasis thing (finding the armor)? I got it to work eventually, but I'm not sure what I did. Was it just the certain tile that I stood on? I walked around it a few times, and tried to interact with it on every possible tile, but I'm not sure what eventually worked. Just curious
The girl in Club P is just a dancing girl - it was pretty hard to get her to work right with collision and interaction, just I just turned it off. And then I totally forgot about her! One of these days maybe I'll do a better dancing animation for her and the other dancers who will show up in future updates. Also, both the oasis and the pirate soda events are triggered just by walking onto a certain tile - I figured that was easier than making you have to mash the screen while walking around
Thanks for the info Also: my bro usually enjoys the games I buy, but he doesn't really express how he feels about them very often (which I admit would be kind of weird). This is one of the few games that he openly praises.
is the forged sword and armor the last equipments i can buy in shop? cause i got raped in the dark castle.
Is there a Guide/FAQ/Walkthrough for this game yet? I find myself getting stuck often and trying to do things in the story before I've followed the necessary story events. And I don't want to post all of my questions here and bug you guys there at Muteki. So, has anyone found or written a FAQ/Guide/Walkthrough for this game yet? Thanks for the help!
Yup, but there's a whole bunch of different weapons and armor in the last castle - there's some good stuff in the dungeon.
Just wanted to let everyone know yes, we're still working on this. The full announcement of the next chapter will be happening next week - and it's going to be the best chapter yet!
Looking forward to Chapter 3... I really appreciate the continued developer support! Screenshots on twitter show promise.
Excellent, thanks for the update. *Crosses fingers to have the update to play during the relative-laden Thanksgiving holiday*
