1.1.0 Update is out! I'm really happy with what I've played so far in the new campaign. Having now multiple people in the same party was a HUGE surprise. New background art, new monsters. I have no idea how long the new bonus campaign is of course (just started it) but I'm guessing Muteki could have honestly just released it as Dragon Fantasy 2. Or at least Dragon Fantasy 1.5 Very excellent and I for one continue to be impressed with this game. Thank you. EDIT: My point above is that this new bonus stuff has enough new content that they could have probably released it as IAP or even a whole new additional game. I'm very happy that they provided it for free was my point as it (so far) is a quality expansion.
Just a quick question.....early game spoilers Spoiler Chest said he would meet me as soon as he got out of the room. Anyone know where? I went to LakeHaven and Derwent and no sign of him. I'm getting a owned inthe ice caverns and centain enemies on the main land so I could do with the backup. Thanks.
Spoiler Chest is going to head out to Lakehaven, but you won't run into him again as he's going to be busy searching for the healer. However, there is another optional person you can get to join you if you travel to Derwent Village. There are secret scenes in this update, depending on when you visit certain places I tried to make this update a lot less linear than the first story, since that seemed to be like the number one request!
The new update sounds great. Adam: Did the virtual D-pad control option make it into this update, or is that likely going to be a bit farther down the road?
We're going to add a virtual D-Pad at some point, probably before the next story update, but it's not in this version. I'm toying with the idea of having townspeople be aware of the giant d-pad floating above them, though, which would be kinda fun for me
Thanks for the feedback. As it happens.....again spoilers... Spoiler I went to Derwent and didn't find Chest (obviously) so decided to grind it out myself. Just completed the ice caverns yesterday though found it very hard with the magic count going up through the ceiling (Having to cast Blastios constantly). Just made the final battle with little magic/health to spare. Close call. I'm gonna run through again with the person you suggested and explore a couple of routes that I couldn't revisit in the first play through. Good effort on the whole, having companions is definitely a huge plus point (especially early game) and I liked the Zelda like puzzel sections in the ice caverns (you'll see what I mean).
Yeah, having Anders be more of a mage than a fighter made it pretty much necessary to have Chest accompany him. Building support for multiple characters took almost all of the development time for this update - now that it's there it's going to be super easy to do more multi-character stories And this next story is going to be a good bit longer than Ander's story... startin' on scripting next week!
Quick poll... How married are you guys to the 8-bit style? If, say, a future update went 16-bit, would that be a good thing or a bad thing? I ask 'cause it's getting pretty hard to do "better" graphics in each update while staying 8-bit Not saying I'm going to do it, but I just thought I'd check to see what you guys think.
What about an option to switch graphic styles? Or would that not really be an option? I honestly like the graphics the way they are, but depending on the 16-bit style I could go either way (liking it better or not as much). Do you have a sample screenshot to show what you mean?
16 bit would be cool. Go for it. Adam, I STILL cannot find the final key. I've got the latest update installed and I'm just stuck. Help?
I beat the final boss of the initial adventure, and have all the hero gear, but I can't for the life of me find out where to begin the new quest line. Can someone point me in the right direction?
The new quests are actually brand new stories, disconnected from Ogden's story. To play the new quest, start a new game in a new save slot and pick Ander's story instead of Ogden's. We're already hard at work on the next story, which is going to introduce the eastern lands and its evil rulers.
You're gonna keep me playing this game for the rest of my natural life aren't you? I'm good with that...
retro is what i´m married with. in my definition 16-bit is still retro, too. i´ve seen all the systems since the atari 2600, so 8-bit is a step in between like it is with the 16-bit times and systems. but for 8-bit purists the idea with the "change button" is a real shot.
I've been watching this since day one. Finally took the plunge tonight. So glad I did. It's like Dragon Warrior with a sense of humor. So much fun to play. And I'm really enjoying how involved and passionate the dev is. Well worth the $3. Thanks for this!
