The fun in this game is the progression of your cards, to be able to continue to evolve them, but unfortunately, with the poor drop rates on the gold chests (I see about 1 in 100 normal), I am rapidly losing my patience and interest in this game. The gold box drop rate on the lower levels or in the earlier days were much better, but recently they are a lot worse. I have not been able to evolve a single card despite many days of grinding. Update: And as expected, after posting this, I experienced a much higher drop rate, now at a much more acceptable 1:40
How many cards out there CAN you continually evolve, though? Most of the cards I've seen evolve once and that's it. Or are most of the 6* "Tutorial Freebie" cards actually second-evolutions of ones that started at 4*? Giving out that 6* card - a card already at the pinnacle of its evolution - was a bit much, I think. That could have been scaled back to a 5*, maintaining the potential of future growth and a desire to gather evolution materials (and a second copy of that card). And the Gold Chests don't really accumulate anything towards continued evolution (other than the materials in the daily bonus dungeons where they drop a lot more frequently than normal). Does any gold chest, even in Chapter 4, give you a creature any higher than 3* (maxing out at 4*)?

Well...it proves your point, but I got a 4* skeletal warrior (which can't evolve) in the void tower. I'm feeling more and more confident in my 3 star rating of this game. The only reason I'm still playing is because I'm hoping it becomes something closer to p&d, and I will have been there from the start. But there are just so many shortcomings right now. What's even more frustrating is that it sounds like the main focus of the dev's is this guild thing and fleshing out the story. Really?
Ocean Treasure Map The ocean treasure map is no longer available in the bonus map section. Was this ended a week early? The announcement under 'News!' says this map is available until October 15, 2013.
Most of gold chest indeed contain just higher level cards, but they are the keys to unlock the reward of a stage that can be 4+ star card after chapter 3. We also just increased golden chest drop rates a little in the first 4 chapters. The final chapters and the hard bonus stages (especially those reward 6+ star cards), will remain very rare drops. Btw, we have submitted a new update Apple with some bug fixes and improvements such as evolution material drop area hints and easier to read fire/dark damage numbers and HP numbers. If there are no surprises, this should be the last update before the update that will contain the Guild and Guild Raids update - please stay tuned!
That boss has around 15k armor ( he subtracts 15k from all of your attacks). But he has less than 2k health. If you don't have anyone who can use a skill for a big amount of damage, you should be looking to join with a leader who can. A succubus, Demeter, cyclops, medusa, etc.
From the Playmage Forums: (Q) No matter what I do, I constantly do 0 damage to the final boss of this level. This is a bug yes? (A) Thanks for the report. The boss is intentionally setup with extremely high defense value. (You need either poison or fix damage skill member to defeat it).

Okay... Well I'm enjoying the game so far, it's quite fun. However as stated by others before me the drop rate on gold chests is quite ridiculous and makes evolving any card almost not worth my time. And second, making an outlet where you can trade cards with other players would tremendously increase the value of the game. IMHO. Oh and also, it seems like the login bonus for 10 straight days of login is adequate, 30 gems, however once you reach that bonus, it says to login 20 MORE days to get 50 gems... Seems like a downgrade because I could just do the 10 day login twice and get 10 more gems in the same amount of time. For a straight MONTH of logging in I believe there should be a greater reward than just 50 gems.
Honestly, I haven't been paying attention. Are you sure the daily bonus is for consecutive days and not cumulative days?
Login Reward I suppose it could be, I mean I've only been playing it 11 days and I've been on every day so I just assumed it was consecutive, but it could be cumulative! I've just never seen that in a game like this, its always consecutive. Does anyone know for sure?..
This is probably one of the most binding free-to-play games I've ever played. I once got two gold chests in one battle, and 2 worthless 2 star drops as a result. Their is a higher chance of winning the lottery in real life than getting anything useful from in game battles. The collection aspect feels like a facade considering the exorbitant amount of useless crap you get. Maybe the bonus maps give better items, but they cost so much energy to enter the probability of getting something good evens out. I was contemplating buying some things because of the great production values, but even then the prices are absurd. Single potions costing 10 gems basically values a dollar for potion, which is ridiculous. 50 gems for one card means 5 dollars for one halfway decent monster to use, which is also ridiculous. $1 per potion and $5 per card is not easy to dip into. $1 for like 10 potions would still be something worth contemplating, but one? Absurd. A shame because I am obsessed with slot type games after King Cashing.
It does not need to be consecutive so you can skip a day without penalties. Eg. playing on 5 days a week for 2 weeks will count as logging for 10 days.
Quick question - does it make any difference if we max out the card before evolving or does the evolved card have the same stats no matter what? thanks
