I've had my iPhone for almost 2 years now, but I've been wondering lately if this makes any kind of difference. I've heard that if you download an app straight to your device, it performs a bit worse, and that it's better to download to your computer and transfer it later. Is there any truth to this?
I believe it's more stable especially with a bigger game load. I just don't trust it otherwise even with a fast connection because past experiences have had it stop in the middle of a download and then just continue to wait to be installed until I finally have to sync it up to re-establish and complete the download.
I think I have downloaded close to a thousand apps/games and they have all been to the device. I have not had any issues and some of the games I have are pretty large down loads.
So I decided to try d/ling without the sync. Been awhile now and yawwnn.....still d/ling-installing the game.Would've been playing it by now if I'd just sync'ed it in the first place. (The game is Infinity Gene btw. Decided to re-d/l it because of an update). .....finally going to sync up to finish up the d/l because it seems to be just hanging on install. Add: went into the app store via my device instead to click onto the update button again and it finally completed the d/l). Too much hassle imo. But others may have less of an issue. For me this happens quite regularly.
