At least try a lite version or something. The company cant win, if they do an exact port they'll get accused of being lazy etc. This seems a bit of a mix, still looks 'old skool' but with a few extras. I admit i would love straight lazy ports of many arcade classics (Bomb Jack pleaseeeee) and i'm surprised companies dont do that more. But i'm happy to see another old skool title arrive, will be getting this at midnight
Where did this come from? Looks interesting but I'll wait for impressions... is the control scheme really that bad or are people just burnt from other bad ports (Sega anyone?)? It looks like some polish work went into this one.
Whats with all the complainers?? its been years since the iphone came out and no double dragon game! from the video this game looks like a fairly loyal reproduction...maybe even on par with the game boy advance game with the combos and special moves! looking forward to checking this out...especially if the multiplayer is local bluetooth *drooooooooool*
Being an old skool fanatic, I'll prob buy it, but as described before, without the "geeky smile" I should have on my face. I think they could've released the arcade version + a newer version to satisfy both gripes. From what I see, there's NO knee/head slam throw combination that made the original so different from the imitators. Taking the classic moves away and adding new moves doesn't do anything to differentiate this game from the imposters now. On top of that, who thinks taking up half the screen with UI is cool?
nope nice try,but no. why do so many devs redo classics when it comes to the ipod/iphone instead of making a new game? after all the time it took them to do this they could've come up with a new game. you dont think double dragon 4 exclusively for the iphone would draw more people to buy it? (i think it would be 4,the last i played was 3 i believe). anywayz, the hud takes up 1/3 of the screen. second, double dragon was a beat-em-up that i played decades ago where it was easy for people to be amused running around and beating people up to clear an area, then move to the next area and repeat. i grew out of this game due to something called"progress". sorry if beating people up over and over again on a tiny screen doesnt draw me in. i know i'll get hated on but honestly, put some effort into games and do something new. think outside the box! come with something original ! gimme a new idea,my attention span can only be measured in nano seconds, what with the hula hoop and dan folgerburg records....
The SEGA Genesis games are not ports, they are the actual roms from the cartridges packed in an emulator.
I lol'd so hard at that. Really made my day. But anyways, I hope DoubleDragon is good. I've been waiting for a good oldschool beat-em-up.
you're right. cince we're here to talk about gamez we shud all bee aware uv our grammmmmar. i meen ur opion dusnt matter if ur speelin and puncuacion is baad. ill bee moore carefull in teh future so ill fit en wid all tha lolz/omg/rofl
<i>gimme a new idea,my attention span can only be measured in nano seconds, what with the hula hoop and dan folgerburg records....</i> You forgot Zima and Pac-Man video games.
Won't let you download, says it's being modified. I'm assuming NZ people had same problem, thus no feedback or reviews? I might just take this as a sign... Man that UI is probably the worst I've ever seen...
