Kinda unfortunate title, isn’t it? At first I thought it’s a sequel to Door Kickers I’ve been playing for quite some time. But as it turns out it’s completely different game. And right up my alley, I have to admit. Looking forward to it!
I thought it was that Door Kickers too. Shame but I am rather keen on this though, for very different reasons obviously!
April 8th. Preorder is live: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/door-kickers-action-squad/id1497887150 Door Kickers 2 is in early access on Steam and will eventually come in “other OS versions”, hopefully that includes iOS.
@Royce thanks for the heads-up. Door Kickers I'm referring to is awesome tactical strategy game I can play with Apple Pencil so promise of a sequel sounds awesome. Looking forward to it. As for this Door Kickers: Action Squad - it's the easiest pre-order ever. It combines everything I love in mobile gaming, so it's a no-brainer. Only downside is I have to wait another month for it.
Door kickers you referred to was from the same developers with Action Squad, or at least the publisher
I'm surprised @macplash and others haven't caught on already. It's a spin-off of the Door Kickers y'all love...just infused with a side-scroller.
Jeez, now I feel stupid - words can't even describe how much. Now when I see it side by side on Steam and the App Store, both titles from the same publisher and developer. Well, I honestly don't know what to say. I feel quite embarrassed.
Still. I could’ve noticed myself. With Broforce on my mind in constant comparison I was just blindly focused on pixel art and didn’t make a connection to that one game that matters the most even though I mentioned it like twice. Well, what’s done is done. Hopefully I’ll be more observant in the future.
Haha I thought you knew and just meant a different game as in not part of the main series, different look and gameplay. Anyway, this looks fantastic.
I see from a lot of the Steam reviews that this game is a blast in co-op but gets old quick with just a single player. Don’t know how that will translate to mobile, though as I don’t have friends it probably doesn’t matter anyway.
@stubbieoz every game is better in co-op. I couldn’t think of a single example when it’s not. And if the game’s built specifically for co-op, like e.g. A Way Out, it can’t get any better than that. I’d love to see working co-op in mobile games. Even playing with random people. It’s just so rare for now. Sure, there are friend codes for online multiplayer, but it’s lame and cumbersome. That being said, if there’s a working co-op in Door Kickers implemented, even using a friend codes, I’d be more than happy and honored to be your friend and play the game this way!
