Honestly the fact that it's on rails is the reason why I waited. Just my preference. I like it though. Players just need the mind set that it's a different game than the original FPS version.
Ten Bucks is why I waited Ten bucks for a IPOD game ill play once is a lil out there. The only one ive seen thats worth that much is Secret of Monkey Island.
u must be f**kin joking I bough Doom seriously just last week. F*ckin c**ksuckers. F*ckkkkkkk. The game is totally worth it tho.
Smart move on their part. Personally, I never would buy this game at $10, or even $5. I played the video game, wasn't overly impressed. But 2.99, it's tempting, even if it's only 3 hours playtime. They'll bring over a lot of casual players like me, who were on the fence.
theres another game thats on sale from the 13-15th and i wanted to get it, but i dont remember what game it was. Anybody know? I restored and jailbroke my iPhone, so I don't have the note that I had of apps I wanted : (
Don't feel bad...just did the same Surprised I waited this long though, since the original brings back so many memories.
this is turning into an expensive week for i-phone games, couldn't resist the big price drop =P Quick question though, at the moment it's seeming like a solid and fun rail shooter, but with the Doom name just slapped on to sell more copies. Granted I've only had time to dash through the first level for now, but does it retain anything from the originals in later levels?

Great game, just bought it and the game would have easily bumped up the sales at $5, why lower such a great game to $3?
IMHO, this is a no brainer. If you were remotely interested in this game, get it NOW. And even if you weren't, it's now only $3, which is a ridiculously low price for such a game (so low, in fact, that I'm shocked they went this low this soon no matter how temporary). No, it's not an FPS. Yes it's a rail shooter. But, y'know what? It's honestly one of the better rail shooters I've ever played on ANY platform, and I'm a HUGE rail shooter fan (have been so since Space Harrier).
I've really been enjoying it so far this afternoon, and would happily buy it again as a light-gun version on a console...
