iPad DOOM II RPG (by id Software)

With all the Doom games on sale now, which one is suggested?

I'd say this:

DOOM Resurrection

Doom II RPG

However, Wolfenstein 3D and Doom Classic have much better replay value than Doom Resurrection - and personally I like Doom better than Wolf, but with iPod controls, I seem to like Wolf a tad better (as it had simpler controls in the original game, plus you get the expansion and other levels!)

If you're jailbroken, then you can play Doom II with the Doom Classic app relatively easy.

It's almost hard to rank these as they are quite different from each other (aside from the original Wolf/Doom) Doom Res. plays more like Time Crisis, II Rpg is more like a dungeon romp and is turn based. (Same goes for Wolf RPG, which isn't part of the sale.)

 

Which has the best controls? I find a lot of fps on the iphone to have annoying controls. Thanks

 

You mean between all four or just the Wolf and Doom Classic?

Controls in Doom Res. are fantastic - tilt to aim, buttons to dodge/reload/interact/etc.

Wolf and Doom Classic can be set to the exact same controls - pretty good for FPS on the iPod - Doom is a bit more complex as you can strafe (usually tilt to strafe)

Doom II RPG is turn based, it's controls are just fine.

 

1.Doom classic - default control not good,but after customize its the best.All 4 difficulty from the original so replay is great.
2.Doom ressurection - if you like doom 3, here you get the closest thing.Take this for the grafic only, cause its the best of all, but control is not for everybody.
3.Wolfenstein rpg - great game with humour but not on sale,so move on....
4. Doom II rpg - if you want simmilar experience like wolf rpg , but have only 99c, take this. Its almoust the same,but I dont like the graphics.I think this game was a mobile port,is it?
5.Wolfenstein 3d - for this game there are a lot free fan-made levels in internet so replay is the best, but I´m sorry, the game is just too old. This graphics are not for me

 

Ran into that same problem, had to restart the level.

Mine's playing just fine.

I was looking into DooM stuff today with the new game coming out and thought about this one.

Wow, first, it's funny. Like, LOL funny. I had forgotten that about it. Like the uncooperative computer and then the guy suddenly zombifies who had been helping you...

The weapons are great. I like that there is a bit of strategy with them.

The variety of stuff, from the stores, to the hacking, etc.

It's a really good game.

...so why can't people buy it anymore?! I don't understand this. I'm thinking about doom and went to the app store to get Doom Resurrection, Wolf3dRPG, etc. and they are all gone. I'll never get to give them a go. I was ready to drop 5-10 bucks, which is pennies to a big company like iD/Bethseda, but if a few people out in the world were thinking like me, it would be a nice little cash grab on games that had to have already made their money back...

It's pretty annoying.

 

Yeah, it's disappointing. These must not have sold well? I got most, if not all, of the Doom and Wolf games. They are beautiful classics that should have outlived the App Store. They work fine for me on iOS 8.4.1.

 

Weird. I just double checked on the U.S. App Store and they are all there. What country's store are you logged into?

 

They are all there for me. I just purchased doom 2 rpg.

Let's go see what it's all about.

Not for me, there's only Doom II RPG & Doom Resurrection for iPhone & Rage HD (universal).
I wish it would be allowed to have Wolfenstein here.
Got Doom II RPG though, gonna try it later.

Yes Doom 2 RPG works. I have ipad4 with latest ios. No issues, sounds and controls work like they should!

I bet there is a market right now for the game with the new one coming out.

I do wish WOLF RPG was available, I owned it on a Nokia or something back in the day.. maybe someone should remake it.

 

It was on iOS a while back. I can still download it from my purchases I think. So they really just need to relicense or update it and put it back up. It was really well done though.

 

Hmm it crashes for me after I hit the button to select my difficulty. I'm on a iPad mini 2 running latest version of iOS 9.

 

I'm still on 8.4.1 and iPhone 6, so I don't know if I can help. But have you tried airplane mode. I have to do that to get LEGO Star Wars to work.

 

Finally finishing this and WOLF RPG before I upgrade to IOS 11. DAMN i love these games. Hate to see em go #
