Thanks for the explanation Nobunga. It seems I someone missed the last two pages of this thread, which makes my question seem a bit silly.
I didn't realize you could make an iOS app in RPGMaker already. I knew EB has been talking about it. This makes things completely different in regards to my friends and I and the project we've been working on in the last year. We were just happy with the RPGMaker market but easily putting it on iOS would be killer.
Really? That's weird, because every tile asset in those screenshots is from VX ACE. Same with the menus. Pixel for pixel. Well, that's lame. I got excited like EB rolled out iOS support and I had missed the announcement.
It probably is RPG Maker as you say. I personally haven't used it but if you have, I'd trust you over others.
You can't make mobile games with RPG Maker. This whole issue came up before with Ash: the developers licensed the tile set and used it on their own game. They also added original portraits and graphics (including, for example, bags of potato chips). So no, this is not an RPG Maker game, regardless of the shared assets.
Does anyone know what's happening with D&D? The short time the game worked I can see gettin into this game. It breaking wasn't to big a deal but not hearing anything about when the fix is coming is what's killing it for me. I've tried searching the infoweb for news on this issue but this seems to be the only place that recognizes it's on ios and that it's broken. Can anyone point me in the right direction for news? Is TA investigating the problem, should I wait for a news story from them?
Though the American EB headquarters have already said in the past year it will be coming. Hence my initial excitement about seeing the assets from VX ACE. Also, in case you were unaware, you can add your own assets to RPGMaker projects as well. God, I wish EB would just get to supporting iOS already. Also, what's up with everyone's attitude here about RPGMaker? You think just because someone makes a game in it, it doesn't count as a game or something?
I'd imagine they're just waiting on Apple to approve whatever update they've made to fix the problem. You know how long that can take.
Not at all, Protoman! Just that using assets doesn't mean it is from RPGMaker. I could care less where a game comes from so long as it is well put together, tells a good story, and has enjoyable gameplay. Some of the best games come from these tools! Please lets get the update so I can continue to enjoy the RPGMaker assets of this non-RPGMaker game!
Hasn't returned and no comment from the devs, yet. edit: but the post showed up: http://doomanddestiny.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5974
This is such a cool little RPG has some great touches, and I actually really like the control system. Now just for the update so I can get on with this game (really can't wait).
You can still play this game elsewhere. It's just bugged on iPad and iPhone. There are still lots of people who have enjoyed it and who are enjoying it. I don't know what's taking so long with the re-release though. Almost like the developers, who normally are quite responsive, have dropped off the face of the planet. Which is unrealistic, given when they launched this game they basically launched it *everywhere*, and they are even trying for a Steam release. They've put so much effort into this, I can only think they must have either been killed, are dredging themselves in code day and night, or took a vacation to celebrate their release but realized their hotel didn't have any internet. *shrugs*
Yeah I checked out the web page and noticed that this game has been released on most platforms, And I also noticed a few people from TA had left bug reports but had been given no answers yeah it's strange mabaye they've been abducted by aliens! As I say the game looks real good it's a pity that I'll have to miss out! As I only use iPhone, iPad ohh well.
