and that was epic without multiplayer None of those classic games had melee attacks, except miniclip's commando, the metal slug clone. In that you knifed when you got up close and pressed attack. can't wait to get this!!
The thing is that you have a limited number of uses for melee so you don't go running around like in a CoD game knifing everyone to death, so you could accidentally miss the joystick and waste your melee attacks.
D'OH! i missed a chance to test. but yeah, looks AWESOME! i cant wait best flash game of this genre=raze
Online requires Game Center. So if your device has it then it will work. Also it should work on devices with iOS 3.0 and up. But only offline modes are offered on Non Game Center devices. Works on iPad as well.
Actually the melee can be used at anytime now but there is a delay between uses. It no longer takes away power from your boost but you don't get as much of an extra push when you use it either. We found that in playing the game its not that easy to just go around the map and knife people so there was no point to limiting its use. The best is to hide behind the bush with a machete on the map "Outpost" and wait for another player to fly by. Then jump out and slash them. We are planning on adding more obstacles to hide behind.
Single player mode is limited to just survival right now since we decided to focus on making Multiplayer as feature rich as possible. Thats what should make the game most re-playable. A campaign mode could be added depending on feedback/demand and how well the game is received. There are about 5 initial multiplayer maps with much more to come. The possibility of an in game map editor is also on our list of tasks.
A campaign or story mode should be added because of the fact that not everyone has internet on their iDevice. Survival can't last that long for replayability. The story could be you chasing after the Mechadoodle and be around 5 normal levels long and a boss battle level at the end. You could even add it in with the IAP.
Maybe at some point we can add one but how many times would you actually play the campaign vs online? To me the campaign on any game is only good for a few plays until it gets boring, even if it is coop. So for now the focus will be about the online play and cool new items like the Riot Shield!
My wifi connection has been very unreliable lately, so my opinion is admittedly biased. I did very much enjoy the campaign mode in the original though, especially with the huge variety of "minigames," weapons, and doodle designs. The focus could remain on online play for now, but I'm sure there is an audience for the single-player campaign mode who are willing to even pay for a separate IAP. I know I would.
You should have a powerup that lets your boots shoot long streams of deadly flame thrust, so that you can hover high above enemies and hurt them. This shoud be a hard to get/ rare powerup that only lasts a few seconds or so,
