Yeah, the game is coming along nicely. I see big things for this runner when it gets released. Also, thanks for the allowing me to beta test as well!
Thank you so much for participating, you guys are all giving us a tremendous helping hand! We're looking for ways to reward the beta testers with small gifts, but the fact that we're not located in USA complicates things a little. Hopefully we'll manage something out.
Really great game so far didn't think a runner could hold my attention for this long but there's something really fun about this one could be that everyone secretly wants to run around with a light saber
Thanks We're also trying to reach some less explored areas in terms of gameplay for a runner. Its hard to put words on it, because its a sum of a bunch of little things, but if we could have people feel it as a plateformer, we'd already have succeeded at something.
Yeah, it reminded me of the TA review of Temple Run, where they said that it really made you feel like an archeologist on the run, or something like that. Well, that's exactly the case here! You really feel like an intergalactic defender of Earth. With a plasma sword! It really helps that the controls work so well (I play on the iPad). I sometimes just like to do an easy endless level to just jump and dive and dash with my super cool sword without dieing too fast. Oh yeah, it does feel like a platformer. There are levels, and there is a lot of jumping from platform to platform. The endless modes are just icing on the cake.
Yeah especially for the last 2 levels. The goal is to make it frenzy but to give enough tools to the player to get out of most situations, causing a lot of 'OMG DID I JUST DO THAT?' events.
I love that feeling. Makes me feel like I'm actually awesome, instead of just someone playing an awesome guy.
The good thing as everyone is saying: feels like a platformer. But without the hassle of needing to tap anything to continue to the next mission . There are a lot of missions and a great mechanic.
The new beta build is now available, with most notably: - 5 contextual funny death animations for the Main Character - A completely reworked intro - Endless objectives are now displayed in game from the pause menu Only about 1 week left to beta! There will probably be one last build after this one. Cheers!
One week left before submission to Apple! This is exciting . Here's another of the storyboards images:
Can't wait for it. Guys, you're gonna be shocked at how good and addicting this game is. Just give it a chance and get used to the controls. Then you'll never stop.
Yeah 3 buttons is slightly above the standard for a runner, not for a plateformer though. We had no specific problem reported about controls yet in the beta. People seem to like them with an average rating of 8.47/10 but yeah, it probably takes a few game to get used to them. A nice surprise came from graphics evaluation though. We thought that this could be a problem, according to the poll in this thread. But again, this was one of the highest average in the evaluation, with 8.4/10. I suppose that the game is nicer in action .
It should be out on November 31th Hopefully we'll find a way to give the game to all beta testers, I'll send info about that in a couple weeks. This also reminds me that I'll have to soon send an email about in-game credits name for the beta testers.
The new beta build is ready, 4 days left to the blitz before submission! Haha we're exhausted, but the game is so cool..
The final beta build is now available on Testflight for last minute checks! We're submitting tomorrow, *cross fingers*. We'd like to thank once again all beta testers, your help was tremendous! Oh and by the way, there's several ways to build a Plasma Sword:
The game has finally been submitted!! Release on November 31th. I updated the front thread pics to the actual iTunes pics. And here's a couple more cool pics:
