Along the same lines (iPad iPod symbiosis), one of the new contols schemes that we're trying is joypad. The initial tests are kinda cool .
The first update should now be available! It includes: - Removed the badge notifications on the game icon - Achievements should now work with GC even if you're not connected to OF - A new icon - A new music for menus (the old one will probably put back later, in sub-menus or something) - Increased a bit the height of the second chance jump upgrade - Changed the line "don't kill a girl in the shower with a plasma sword" for: "don't kill an alien in the shower with a plasma sword" - Various other minor bug fixes The next update should focus on additional controls options Let us know if there is any problem. Cheers!
I want to buy this game but... How does it compare to jetpack joyride? And is there alot to unlock, is the mission ssystem similar to jet pack joy ride? Can you see your self playing this game for 20 hours like jetpack joyride?
Very well...oh, details? Basically, no clue how many there are for each of the 4 difficulties, but you'll be given a mission like I currently have on the 2nd difficulty to the effect of, "Reach 2500M for a 600xp bonus". Once you achieve that goal they'll dream up a new one for you on your next run (it might be you can eve n start on the next mission on the same run, but I don't think so). So they're just arbitrary tasks which I think tend to both progress in difficulty but also are somewhat difficulty level appropriate (the missions in Hard Endless will be a lot tougher than the mission in Easy Endless).
A lot of our players have been playing more than that On another note, we had someone reporting that he was still having trouble with the achievements under GC. If a few people could tell us if the last update fixed (or not) their problem with the GC achievements, that would be much appreciated!
We hope to! Right now the plan for the second update is to add extra controls options like customizable buttons, iCade supporte, joypad support and iControlPad. We might also add a new layer of upgrades. Later on we'll try to add new game modes and the like .
Just want to chime in and say this is really an excellent endless runner--kind of a synthesis of all the things that made Jetpack Joyride and Robot Unicorn Attack awesome, but with a proper campaign and spiffy sci-fi theme. It is on my device to stay, and actually caused me to delete RUA because I felt like this game killed it. Great work, devs!
Dude, I'm glad I don't know what you look like so that makes it a lot more difficult to picture that. That said, I think this is a marvelous idea. Going to give it a try tomorrow morning.
Things are kinda slow throughout holidays but the plan is still the same as specified earlier in this thread. The next update will focus on adding controls options like iCade, joypad, iControlPad and customizible buttons. In the same update or the next, we'll probably add a new layer of upgrades. Among the new skills upgrades considered, there's a potential triple jump and a 'glide' skill used to slow down the fall rate after a jump.
If you have suggestions about new skills, don't hesitate to propose them! On another topic, we're considering making a sequel for DRWAPS. We're still hesitating between two directions: 1- Having a very similar game which would look like a level by level continuity of the adventure, with some variations over gameplay. 2- Having a full platformer, which would look like a single large world with different interconnected zones and mix-up elements of RPG, combat, exploration and physics puzzler. If we could get inputs about which direction DRWAPS players would prefer, that would be awesome.
