Did they say that somewhere else? In this thread, they only said they were fixing a bug which meant players with only secret characters left to unlock were still being offered new standard characters. I've unlocked 6/8 secret characters now, no idea how to get the last 2.
You're right. There's no bug preventing you from unlocking all the secret characters. The bug is that when you have all non-secret characters, it should stop offering "new grindables" in the normal way, as there's non left to get. I did the logic wrong for this originally, but there's a fix with apple waiting for approval. There is one fix for secret grindables though too, but it just makes it easier. I'm going to tell you what it is here, as you guys are all awesome for being so active in this thread. ------- You can type morse code with the "?" button. The code for this particular grindable is "DG". I've fixed the morse code thing in the awaiting update, but for now it's a bit tricky. I'll explain how to do it: Open the character select screen. Scroll to the button and enter "DG" in morse code. To enter a dot, quickly tap. To enter a dash, hold the button for at least half a second. If you go wrong, close the character select and reopen it. (In the fix, you don't have to refresh the window, and you also don't have to hold for over half a second to register a dash). This secret code unlocks my personal favourite grindable. First person to post a screenshot of this grindable unlocked in this thread gets our entire back catalogue (iOS) and all our soundtracks from bandcamp.
I've generated two sets of promo codes, so the 2nd person to send a screenshot can also get our back catalogue of iOS apps and music

Theme ideas for new sets from me include: * Candy: chocolate bar, jelly baby, lollipop, candy floss. * Toys: teddy bear, yo-yo, Troll, space hopper. * Christmas: Christmas tree, candy cane, present, bauble. Probably shouldn't include Baby Jesus. Also country-themed sets, e.g. England: tea cup, bowler hat, cricket ball, fish and chips Scotland: haggis, tam o' shanter, thiste, sporran. Mexico: taco, sombrero, pinata, chilli pepper. France: garlic, beret, Mona Lisa, camembert. Germany: sausage, sausage, beer, sausage. ...
Awesome ! THANK YOU FOR THIS ! I cannot commend you enough for taking the very little time you have to do this for a smaller portion of iOS users. Thankfully, that means more downloads for you and potentially, more profit. I really don't mind the laggy menus, I mean, I'm on iOS 7 on an iPhone 4S, I would be pretty stupid to not expect this and complain about it when I experience this on most games I play. But if you say gameplay is barely affected, I'm even more ecstatic to try this. I'll patiently wait for the update and again, thank you for doing this !
No that was my misinterpretation of the bug sorry. I actually didn't realise the secret unlocks were specific grindables, I thought it was just an alternate method to obtain a few since the game didn't originally have the advert option (or at least I don't think it did). My bad
