Is the iPod icon the rocket or the head of the girl?

Go to the control options and a shot button toggle option is somewhere in there iirc (along with manual hyper and hold/switch option for the laser).

    Bought it.
Very, very disappointed, it's running like a piece of sh** on my 3GS / iOS 4.

Turn your iPod off and on again.

If you're jailbroken, use swapmode or you deserve it.

Why didnt anyone talk about the soundtrack!?

The newly composed for iPhone soundtrack is freaking amazing. Play with your earphones.

I fully appreciate that this game series is new for some people, but for others, like myself, I never imagined I'd have two of their finest on my device. A few years ago I remember pumping in yen after yen after yen to play these are local arcades, but now, they're available for me any time and anywhere.

If you haven't got these games, you should get them - exemplary examples of bullet hells, smoother than butter off a baby's behind and crazier than Jack Nicholson in The shining. Loving it...no, scratch that, loving them. Both of them.

DDP just takes it to that next level and along with all the iDevice changes they've made, buy it now, even if don't have a 3GS (or above)... just buy it and then get an iPad/iPhone4... :D it'd be one of the best gaming decisions you'll ever make!

Let's see if they will bring Mushihime-sama in next. :D

iDevices are just bullet hell machines.

Should I get this if I have never played a bullet hell game before (except from espgaluda lite which was meh) and found space invaders infinity gene slow and boring?

any other 3GS people playing this? from reports on here, it sounds as if it might only be cut out for the iphone 4. would love to hear from a few more people with 3GS phones (not jailbroken)...

But is it too hard/inaccessible for someone who hasn't played a bullet hell game before?

Using a 3GS, 32Gb, latest OS, no problems whatsoever... :)

(but it's always good to restart your machine first)

No, not really, there are a variety of control setups and modes than - and it even recommends which ones are easier. Also, the levels start of pretty simply before the difficult ramps up, giving you time to adjust and get used to the gameplay mechanisms...

But be warned, Cave games have never been classified as easy...

5th level on easy alone can be challenging to no continue. 1-4 I can deal with. Awesome that they implemented a practice so I can just bash my head against level 5 until I can no continue clear it.

Where is the review TA? You get R Type reviewed ten minutes after it's out, and Phantasy Star and Knight's Rush reviewed around the same time, yet this hasn't been looked at? Maybe you didn't get a build before release, which is understandable but I need a review before the sale ends! :)

That slowdown is intentional, just like in all Cave games. Play it on hard and think what it would be like to try to dodge all those bullets with no slowdown.
