    350 million on stage 1?

What the hell. Can you take a video and show me how you do it? :)

Do you guys continue? i can't bring myself to do it and have yet to get past stage 4. I wouldn't give it a second though I don't think if it weren't for the fact I'm playing on Easy.

Thing is, I'm not frustrated at all, since I can't believe I'm playing this puppy on a cell phone.

And as beautiful as the game already is, Retina Display support would kick my ass.

Retina support is highly unlikely as this is a port and they would have to redraw all the sprites. Trust me a lot of the highest scores are still done on easy because it is just that much easier to 1cc even in power mode in arcade. Getting used to the levels really helps. My scores and loss of lives truly dropped after about the 8-10th playthrough of the game. I still can't not lose a single life to unlock the 2nd loop. As an example my 7th place power-b score was done on easy.

HAHA. I miswrote. It's suppose to be 35million. I just counted the number of digits.

It seems that scores are lower on iPhone mode.

The scores are much lower on iPhone mode. :)

I'm averaging around 45-50mil at end of stage one for iPhone mode, and about 750mil at the end of stage one for arcade mode.

Edit: Oops. Forgot how much I actually do get. ;) Wasn't as high as I thought.

Also I've only just realised you get a completely different soundtrack in iPhone mode for hitting the hidden route. That's MUCH better!

On the other hand I think they've been using prerendered sprites for a while so it wouldn't involve a full on sprite redrawing in the classic sense...and they're already doing/have high res assets for the upcoming Xbox 360 release (just like they have high res assets for Espgaluda II from it's 360 release a while back).

Supposedly (from someone that's talked to Cave) I think it's a RAM thing, or something with performance in general. All the sprites would be 4x the resolution, 4x the pixels to output screen, etc.

I think the button responsiveness issue i've been experiencing has been fixed too.

Previously I had to let one thumb off the screen before pressing the buttons otherwise they wouldn't kick in responsively - This seems to be vastly improved but I have absolutely no idea if that's just me or not.

So I completed arcade mode on Normal (type A, bomb style) without continuing, yet the game ended without going to the second loop. It was the last life - was that the reason? Also, shouldn't there be a "one credit complete" achievement? I used iPad btw, since it's the only device I own that runs this game. Lastly, weren't there supposed to be 6 areas? The word "all" appears next to "level" on the local scores screen. The total score was about 4.7 or 4.8 billion (#120). The end of level one score was only about 100 million.

Only 5 stages in Dodonpachi Resurrection.

    Second Loop conditions:

Tsuujou 2nd Loop - Collect 35 bee items or clear the game in a single life.

Ura 2nd Loop - Collect all 45 bee items and clear the game in a single life and used 2 bombs or less.

I was initially under the assumption you could lose a single life - You can't. I cleared having lost only one life with Strong Type C and it didn't trigger the second loop. You have to do it on a single life.

You also can't trigger the second loop if you're playing on Easy mode.

Bomb is auto on all modes and can't be turned off.

I like it, but it is really expensive, need to save some money first :)
But then, I will probably buy it...

If someone here could explain some of the inner-workings of iPhone downloading to me, I'd really appreciate it, 'cause it's pretty clear I really don't have much of a handle on it at this point: iTunes is telling me I have 811.47 MB free on my 3GS, yet it's also telling me I don't have enough free space to download the update. What gives? It takes more than twice the space of the entire game to download it?

Edit: To clarify, iTunes was telling me last night and this morning that I didn't have enough free space to download the update over wi-fi.

Yep, what you download from the AppStore is essentially a zip file. It's compressed to make downloading easier.

So you need space for that file AND the uncompressed app.

An example would be Crimson Gem Saga. The compressed form is ~300mb and the uncompressed game is ~700 so to install it you need close to a 1gb of free space

How do you save your progress? I doesn't save for me when I pass a level. I have to start from scratch all the time. Is it suppose to be like this?

Ahhh, so the 366 MB listed in iTunes is the compressed size? You'd think I'd know this stuff by now.

If you plug in your device and go to the "Apps" tab you can check your games in the column on the left. It shows you the uncompressed size so you can figure out how much space they are really using
