A new Dodonpachi game just released It's called Dodonpachi Unlimited and it's free to play I got it in Japan not sure if it's out anywhere else While I like the premium version of Cave Games better I'm def willing to give this one a try since I love the series itself

Ok, I've tried, and the answer is both yes and no. Let me explain: Yes: It's the same game, with the same premises, same levels and layouts (after 20 minutes play), same "pick a card" and watch a video to multiply your collected coins, etc. And it's in English! No: There are two currencies, one achievable in-game and another premium which as of this writing I haven't been able to achieve by playing. I don't know if there will be daily bonus and things like that, but I didn't see anything about it. The prices of the packs are as expected: from 2 bucks to a whopping 100 bucks. Some unlockables are achieved with normal currency and others only with premium currency. The publisher is not Cave, but Mobirix (at least in Spain), which I don't know anything about and can't speak. I'll keep on playing because I liked the original a lot. My worry is that I find that we can't get premium currency just by playing, which would mean that the paywall is being unable to unlock some things unless you buy premium currency. I'll keep you posted. EDIT: I've been playing a bit more and I think there's going to be a big paywall. I've calculated you need around 650 premium coins to purchase all the premium things initially available on screen, plus I've discovered that the "hard" level, aside from having to unlock it, has to be purchased for 3 premium credits. You are granted 30 premium credits when you install the game, which is barely nothing compared to the prices of things: 30-50 coins for each new pilot, 50 coins for each new ship, 50 coins for the 2P...I think that to buy most premium things, the initial expense should be $100, and I'm not sure what will happen when you upgrade something several times. I remember that some upgrades of Real Racing 3 had normal currency for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd tiers, but premium currency was needed for tiers 4 and 5. Here something similar could happen. As I said, I'll keep on playing to see where I get...
Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I tried it out myself as well. As far as I can tell, you still don't need an internet connection to play, which is a plus. I'm not sure if this is a "daily bonus" type of thing, but they gave me 30 of the premium currency when I started the game. I'll keep playing this version, but I'm still keeping the Japanese version, because I've sunk a lot of time into that one.
Check my previous post, I've just edited it. And yes, keep the previous version. I'm going to check if it's in my purchase history... EDIT: Yes! It's there! Downloading as I write this. I had to look for 怒首領蜂 instead of Dodonpachi, but it worked! Now that I have both, I'll compare to see the differences.
I've just redownloaded from my purchase history after it was removed by Cave and it works just fine. Iphone SE with iOS 10.2 here.

OMG I just tried out the game and it's premium currency just to unlock auto bomb? Seriously??!!! Then the silhouette of the "secret girl" asking "who is she?" when you can actually see her already by selecting her in the pilots screen iirc, and even her name is revealed there. Guess i'm sticking to DDP Maximum and the Japanese Ichimen Banchou
