How about a Human Nature John Smith version of Ten? And one of him in his orange spacesuit? ETA: Oh, and there's also his retro scooter helmet and sunglasses from The Idiot's Lantern.
I reckon the Tenth's space suit would be good, he donned that more than once and I really enjoyed the eps he wore it in (Waters of Mars and 42).
loving this game so far, nearly at the end of series 7 (i think) will probobaly go back and try grinding again for the character drops once i finish the series! (ireally want strax and river). has anyone purchased the women on dr who pack, or could you tell who it includes i.e. how many cards, ive been saving up my crystals for it but I was just wondering if it was worth it.
Hey, one question about today'a advent calendar gift. Are the two fragments supposed to be enough to upgrade a companion? All mine need six, so the two are just sitting there. *edit* Still very nice, and two hearts is a nice subtle reference to the Doctor, I just realized.
Just wanted to make sure my game wasn't being weird again. It's far too addicting, really. Running through my battery like anything.
Well, I'm proud of myself, just finished Season 7 and have all the companions, all maxed out. Onto Season 6 now!
I love this game but the drop rates for characters are annoying. I've played some of the levels dozens of times and still haven't gotten a character to drop. I don't want to go to season six until I have all the characters from season seven first. Oi! Heh.
Yeah-I'll be honest, I've NEVER gotten a character drop. I bought Strax with my crystals, and I unlocked a costume for the Doctor, but I've never gotten a character drop. I wonder what the drop rate is...
Hi guys, The drop rates are different for different companions but were increased significantly several days ago. That said, I think we in some ways set unrealistic expectations because the prior characters are 100% drops so as to build a solid team to play. After this, subsequent companions are all optional and rare. There are three ways to get them: 1- Grind like with all RPGs The nice thing about DW:L is that we have no energy meter so you can do this at will. And you get experience while you do it. And you can go back and replay old levels so there's no hurry. 2- Trade in time crystals for a random character or costume. Nice thing is you never get something you already have. (In PND for example, this was something which quickly put me off rolling for characters...I got the same characters way to frequently). 3- Directly trade crystals for various companions on 'special offer' (currently River Song and Strax). Thanks and so glad you are all enjoying the game. Hope you've claimed the promo code! Susan
I was wondering if those specials were any different from the companions you get as drops. So it's more of am opportunity for those with bad luck with drops?
They are all drops as well -- yes, if you don't have the patience or interest to farm, you can trade crystals for them
Please remove online only Hello, I really really wanted to love this game, but my experience is disastrous. After downloading it in the office I launched it in the subway. It began downloading about 200 unspecified things of an unspecified unit - hopefully not megabytes - which took about ten minutes. After that, it launched and showed for another few minutes a waiting sign. Then it started the tutorial. I got a message and switched to Threema, than switched back to the game. The game restarted. After a few minutes it started the tutorial again. All progress was lost. Great. Closed the game for the day. Next day, once again in the subway I launch the game. After 6 minutes it explained me that this game needs an internet connection to run. Well, I am connected, but it's slooooooowww. So the game gets a timeout and shows me the wrong error message. A few minutes later I was into the first tutorial, completed it and the game launched a second tutorial. Sigh. After that I was able to play the first episode. Finally. As it seems the "online only" requirement results in the game being not playable at all when you have no or a bad connection. Tomorrow I'm in an 11hour flight and was happy to play this game, but now I know that it will refuse launching because there no Internet available. Please consider removing the always on requirement.
It's one thing to grind and actually get something for it. It's another to play a level over 50 times and still get nothing...and for a character that isn't even a "main" character. I'm trying to work my way through the levels with character drops and I can't even get the girl from the red castle let alone someone like River or Amy. I love the game but when my effort isn't remotely rewarded, I don't really want to put in the effort. And since the crystal drops are just as rare, I don't want to "pay" to unlock them just yet. I'll keep at it and hope I get at least one drop before the new year. Lol.
AFAIK you only need to be online when the game first boots up, so if you have a device that can keep things in the background you can start it up in a place with a good internet connection then play it elsewhere later. I was able to play it on an airplane this way so I'm assuming that works.
