Um, did you read the post where I said I tried that about a dozen times? In the end I had to disconnect my device from my home wifi, completely shut down my device, shut down my wifi at home, reboot my wifi and turn my device back on again and ONLY then did he finally drop at the first play of that level. And i took a bunch of trial and error before i figured that out. It seemed to be the action of reconnecting fresh to the wifi that kicked him in.
My game hasn't updated. And I can't update it because when I'm connected to wifi, my game won't start. It just freezes at the splash screens.
Yes, if you're not online, the game can't patch That is why he wasn't in the game for you. Spoonhead has been fixed. thanks! Susan
Is there any way to update the game once it's launched or via the Play store, or will it only update when restarted?
No, the game will only patch when you have fully relaunched. You don't need to do it via the Play Store, that's only for full updates. These are little patches of content.
If you're on iOS, the quickest way to force a relaunch is to double tap the home button to bring up the background bar, and then find the icon for the game and hold down on it until you get the wiggle animation and then click the delete button to remove it from backgrounding. (Disclaimer: DO NOT HIT THE DELETE BUTTON ON THE APP IN THE MAIN SCREEN, ONLY THE BACKGROUND BAR THAT COMES UP ON THE BOTTOM WHEN YOU DOUBLE TAP THE HOME BUTTON.) For Android, I have no idea (but this is an iOS forum so... yeah).
Yeah, I'm on Android. Relaunching the app is easy enough, it's getting the game to install the updates and load that's the problem.
I'd definitely agree with this update! Also does anyone know the level the eight doctor is on? Not sure if my games not updating or I've not got to his level yet
Don't really know where to put this, but I wanted it to be seen and preferably discussed so I suppose here works. https://docs.google.com/document/d/145WEF1UN6skE1L_Tc4iXiQtnvssnaNcia2g9asdGwbQ/edit?usp=docslist_api External link because this would otherwise be an (even more) enormous post. If anyone wants to discuss it, pls do so here. While I was leveling the game just felt a bit easy, simple and monotonous, so that's why I brainstormed up a few more abilities which could make the game more interesting. However, now that I've actually maxed my main team out, I'm bashing my head against snowmen in the rain and ten miles below (currently trying to level k9 so I can stun one enemy to avoid getting one shot when they all attack on the same turn), so there is definitely difficulty in this game, it just took me a rather long time to get to it. Good work on the game though. A nice mix of RPG and match 3 that caters to a diverse crowd of doctor who fans. Content, collectibles, art and references galore. Just need more roleplay, an advanced tutorial (got 15 levels into season 6 before I realised characters had abilities, not exaggerating in the slightest), a pop up box explaining enemy abilities (what the heck is syphon?), collectible theme tunes, and a nice big, challenging endgame. Oh and recognition as well, I finished 2 of the 4 expert levels, and maybe it's because they're limited time things, but I would have expected an achievement, rare drop or at least a big fat smiley face saying I completed those levels. Great work and keep at it!
New content starting this week with Handles as a new ally and Stormageddon: Dark Lord of All (aka the baby, Alfie) next week. Loads more to follow including 3 Doctors and new levels. Hope you all are still enjoying
Help I still have not been able to play the game since the end of December. I can only open it if my wifi is off and my phone is on airplane mode, otherwise it freezes at the main screen an says it is going through the updates but stops at 11 out of 80 something. So I haven't been able to update the game and get any of the new Doctors/ companions and wasn't able to get the last few of the advents.. Is this happening with anyone else? An any word if it will be fixed anytime soon? I would live to play again. Thanks.
Hey there, Sorry to hear that! There is an update coming on Apple that will be submitted to them in about a week which will add iCloud support and also some strange issues a handful of users have had with corrupted data. Which is perhaps what's going on for you. Can I trouble you to email [email protected] so we can take a look though and be sure to address? Also, I can make sure we get you access to the advent content you missed, etc. thanks! Susan
I really wish the drop rates were better. It's not all that fun playing a level 20 or 30 times and still not getting the character or outfit. I know games like this really only are grindfests but I dunno, rewards are nice if you can actually earn them. I'd be playing more if Ican earn stuff which I'd then be able to level up. We'll see how long it takes me to get Handles. I've already tried about a dozen times. :/ I'm starting to think I just might be really unlucky. Lol.
I'm ok with the drop rates for the characters and outfits being really low. What killed my interest was the progression blocks. I'm stuck at a timed level in season seven. The only way to beat it is to farm previous levels for the various fragments in order to level up my characters and then increase their rank with the fragments I gather. Unfortunately, the drop rates on fragments are low, and the rate of experience gain is slow enough, that I simply got burned out on the game early on. That's fine, perhaps this simply isn't my kind of game. I keep it simply because of the Doctor Who theme. Every once in a while I load it up and play a level, only to gain a little xp and zero fragments, so I shut it back off.
We're the opposite. I have a bunch of characters at max. For the most part, the crystals drop fairly decently...that and I've played some levels soooooo many times trying to get a character or outfit that some of them are maxed at 20. Would loved to be able to hold more, heh, since I can get them fairly easily. Heh.
