I know with many rechargeable batteries, you have to cycle the battery the first few times and then every once in a while thereafter. Do you need to do so with the Touch? I just got a new one and need to know if I should the first time I charge it.

No. LiIon batteries don't need that. Just charge it fully the first time, and that's all it needs.

Hmmmm...so should I do a fully drain/charge cycle? This makes it seem like I should:

    Use iPhone Regularly

For proper maintenance of a lithium-based battery, itÂ’s important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally. Be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).

Be sure to do a hard restart now and then. Hold down the home/power buttons at the same time.
