Well, I have 6.09 balance and I want to get Heavy Mach (0,99) but I also want enough money left to be able to either purchase Zen Bound or Sway (depending which one is better for me) and they are 4.99 each.

So without tax it would be 4.99 + 0.99 = 5.98, leaving me with 11 cents.

But I have heard some people have to pay tax.
I've been looking at my receipts Apple has emailed me, it looks like I have yet to pay tax for any of the games I bought.

    Anyone can clarify?

It depends on where you live, some states/countries charge tax on downloads, when others dont.

you know you must have a credit card on your account so even if your itunes card credit left isn't enough would it kill you to have a few cents on the credit card bill?

I'm pretty sure you need to put in credit card info when making an iTunes account. I guess it has changed since I made my account or maybe I am wrong. I buy iTunes cards too since I don't pay my credit card bill : )

    You are wrong.
Ever since the release of the App Store, you do not need a credit card for an itunes card.

I pay tax on everything in the store. I happen to know my state requires it, but not all states do. I am sure a quick google search could find out which states have iTunes sales tax.

Lucky you. Spending 17 dollars for me adds up to an extra dollar in tax (I whole game). I don't like tax...

I hate the tax...makes no sense why it is state-regulated. I am from NY, but go to school in Vermont for 8 months of the year...yet I still get charged tax as my information and CC is registered in NY....lame

When changing the billing address for my credit card, it asked me to confirm the county that the address is in, and it specifically stated this was for tax purposes. Maybe this can explain why two of you live in CA but only one pays sales tax on downloads.
