If referring to story wise there is no need to play the first. Gameplay they are similar with DOS2 having refined the combat mechanics and you control a larger team. Personally, I thought the first was better but most would disagree with me.
Is there a way to purchase a game even though your device cannot play it? I would get it on sale to play once I buy an upgrade but not right now?
Unfortunately, it rarely happens. In the past I've tried to download a game whose requirements were above the specs of my device and the purchase button was inactive. Conversely, under similar circumstances, I was allowed purchase, BUT soon after installation, requested a refund because my device's system checks wouldn't allow it to launch.
I purchased on release day but I've only just had chance to start playing ! WOW !! This is just incredible ! The ability to play on my main PC then my Steam Deck and finally my M1 iPad Pro is just out of this world !!! AND WHAT A GAME !!!!! I have a 5 hour plane trip mid January now I can play DOS 2 and just pick up where I left off when I get back. I also have BG3 in my library I wonder if Larian will release it for M1 and above iPads in future it runs well on the Steam Deck ....
4 Hour flight on Monday and will be playing on the plane. I usually play with an X-Box controller because finger prints on the screen trigger my OCD ... I don't really want to take the controller on the aircraft but will if it's going to ruin the experience. How do the touch controls compare ?
I wish this was on iPhone, but I guess it’s not even on the newer ones because of the UI and screen real-estate rather than anything else?
The touch controls works really well and for every different method (touch-controller-keyboard) they have put differences in between to maximize the goodness of every convention. Just for your info it plays perfect in my iPad Pro M2 with the Smart Keyboard with track-pad (it recognize it as keyboard with mouse)….
I'm playing on an M1 iPad and its great but playtime is split between PC, Steam Deck and iPad with the majority on the PC's. Think I'll take the controller as it what I'm used to. I did have a brief go yesterday with the touch controls and they did seem very good.
