I would love some humor and in-jokes in a game like this. That would make the difference between dry&crumbly vs moist&chewy.
Any diplomacy? My favorite part of master of Orion was sabotaging an enemy and blaming it on one of their allies. Hilarity would always ensue.

That is to say, I was waiting until now, when I could say: Distant Star is now available in the App Store! Go! Give it a play, then come back here and tell me what you think. I'm already working on the first update (autosaving, Gamecenter, &c), but I'm open to ideas.
