Hey everybody! I'm back and this time I'm looking for beta testers for our upcoming game, Disco Flip. We, here at ALL CAPS, have been working on this title for quite a while, and now we feel the time as come for us to take the beta version for a spin and get some feedback. Disco Flip is a unique twist of music and action, in which the player has to navigate obstacles and enemies as they progress through the procedurally generated endless runner world. With countless of different characters, the players must navigate the dangerous path before them, as everything, even the trees move to the beat of the music. Features -Intuitive and engaging gameplay coupled with catchy music -Procedurally generated challenges -Varied characters which impact both visuals and the soundscape -Minimalistic and aesthetically pleasing graphical style Here is a small teaser from an earlier version of Disco Flip Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel For a spot in the beta test for Disco Flip, send an email to: [email protected] Either use or include an email address that you can access on your preferred iOS device. Just played for a bit and there's plenty of content in there! I love how every character has their own music style. Heavy Metal Moose is my favorite so far! First of all, let me begin by saying that although I love rhythm games I pretty much suck at them D: That being said, maybe it's just me but I think the tutorial is way too basic. I think it would be nice to explain the different mechanics, enemy patterns, etc and let the player practice on a few obstacles (preferably without dying). Also, each run could start easier with more sparse enemies and obstacles, and slowly get busier. On my first runs I couldn't get farther than a few blocks away from the start. I just didn't give up because the game looks quite interesting and I really like the graphics and the music. The difficulty/density of enemies seems a bit random too.. see the attached image for the enemy layout I got once right off the start. Well, I'm getting the hang of it and will hopefully improve, but I wanted to share these initial impressions. I'll play some more and will report back!
I will agree that it might need s bit more of a tutorial, early on you you'll struggle to move even a few steps forward and the easily die when you encounter something. It takes a good balance and timing before you can really start to enjoy the genius of it all
Thanks for the feedback so far =D We are going to take a look at the tutorial and see how we can improve it. Also there are still open spots for the beta [email protected] Either use or include an email address that you can access on your preferred iOS device. -Brian
