    Hey,
to make a long story short, I ended up getting one of those xbox "system scratches" where if the console gets bumped it gives your disc a huge scratch. I am trying to figure out what to do with it now. The xbox recognizes it as a game and I can play it but it makes this crazy loud thumping sound while its playing, so I dont want to leave it how it is. I am considering the old toothpaste trick and I f that doesnt work then I think I will bring it to a place like Bandit Video Games and get one of those like 5$ for them to fix up your disc.

Oh yeah, the game is modern warfare 2.

    Any suggestions?

I have 3 games that're unplayable. Nothing so far has fixed them. They are pretty deep, though.

I would stay away from any of those cheap disc fixer systems I bought one a long time ago and all it did was further scratch the disc. It was 10 times worse after using it then it was before.

Im not talking about those liquid set things but like actually having the disc fixed in-store by an employee. I heard you can do it from a friend, not sure if its true though.

Yeah they work, provided the data layer hasn't been damaged.

As far as I know it's basically the same thing, but getting it done in-store is more professional and whatever liquid/gel/plastic stuff they use is probably more reliable.

Try taking it to Hollywood Video? They have a disc cleaner in there that works pretty well.
