I've communicated to gosvpg several times, both via this thread and in private. He's repeatedly passed it off as acceptable behaviour for the child of a friend he allowed into the league. There's really nothing more I can do. My point is, if when this round ends and the second round begins but good participating people are dropped from the league simply because they didn't check this thread during some arbitrary 24-hour sign-in-or-get-dropped period would be absurd. I'll never have a DD turn go unnoticed for more than the length of a night's sleep. I may go two to three days without checking this thread. Fortunately I'll know exactly when Round 1 ends because I'll likely be the one reporting the result for the last-to-complete match.
Oh I didn't realize you are the one playing the game with gospvgs friends kid? I'm confused and why the he'll aren't this games developers taking notice of us anymore? Have they just given up after making some little decals?
Well, it's too late for that now, I know everyone doesn't check this thread on a daily basis (including me). I guess the only way a check in would work is if it was clearly stated at the beginning of a league, for instance: Thread is started asking for people to join the league, host requires you to send him/her an email within a week or so time saying your interested, round 1 is completed within a few weeks, winners of round 1 are announced on host website (or here), an email is sent from host to the round 1 winners with a message that if no response within 24 or 48 hours then their spot will be replaced withthe next responsive player in line. Round 2 begins and continue the process so forth. Doesn't sound to 'absurd' to me. Sounds organized. I wish I had the time right now to set one up myself but I don't, Im merely throwing out a suggestion. I'm not opposed to starting a league though and might try it when things slow down around here. Again, thank you gospvg, your league is running well, I hope it continues to do well, I'm happy to be a part of it. =)
It's difficult because even players like yourself who take their turns quickly could have something come up & not play for a few days. I can only but remind players to take their turns in the hope that they listen but otherwise I am just reliant on the game's time out system 10 days I think to kick a player out.
I think it's 8 days of one pending turn for deliberate-opponent matches (5 for randoms). But relying on that when a 3-player race can take 60+ turns means that you're theoretically allowing for one round of the tournament to take over a year. Even 1 day per turn (MMM's approximate average) makes 3 laps of Hangtime for three players take two months.
Wish the devs would give us more options for host running a race. I don't think things will change until then.
I want to see the game limit raised, lol. I can't even make a game with Zincous these days since my slots are always filled up. Have the devs ever mentioned raising the cap?
I believe somewhere in this thread I read that some people were using the paid AND the free version to run a total of 40 games. I'm consistenly full as well. =) Edit: my mistake, I just tried it and it won't work with the same login, nevermind.
This game has lowered my interests a lot since a few weeks/months. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice game, but without any statistics and some kind of rating system, it gets boring after a while... I didn't take the time to go any deeper into this thread but it wonders me why this hasn't been discussed (more). Am I the only one who misses those features a lot?
Still waiting on League 8 & 9 I waiting to hear back from the player to find out how far they are from being finished.
It does tally your wins and losses under the Settings button, but yeah it does start to all run together without some better tracking.
In League 9, the Flip Out race ended trooperlooper2 first, mcevoy second, and MightyMiniMan third. In the other two races, mcevoy is several shots into his final lap and the others have not yet begun their final lap. MMM has been a lot more frequent a player this weekend. I think he's actually been averaging two turns a day!
Luckily? Frankly, I feel that the only ones who are benefiting from any luck are the one's who aren't considering those of us who have been following instructions, and have a true enthusiasm for the game. I was very excited about the tourney and even more when I made it through to the second round! But sadly, my enthusiasm and momentum are being dulled by having to wait for such a long stretch of time. Doesn't seem fair, somehow. I do not want to seem unappreciative of gospvg's commitment, I couldn't do it myself. So, my hat's off to you gospvg, good on ya. While I am not a top player I do enjoy the game immensely and play often (I'm retired so have lots of time). It is elegantly designed yet extremely simple and provides some of us with the thrill of precision, the opportunity for a challenge, and the satisfaction of courteous, social interaction. So, let's get on with it. Always open for a challenge dls911.
