Hoping to hear news of new update soon with powerup button reversed on other side of screen and a way to turn the powerup up ON before you make your move. Some new tracks wouldn't go amiss either
Great game. I've been reading through the forum members suggestions and they are pretty good. How about a power-up that automatically generates a barrier around the entire track for your turn? Could help in some tough spots. I'd also like to see a missile-type power-up (a forward-shooting projectile of some sort) and more punishment for getting knocked off the track by others. Maybe they could regenerate to where the attacker started before the turn, or be forced to skip a turn?
I used to enjoy this game, but the notifications seemed to have gotten flakier since the last update. I almost never get a notification now when it's my turn. Kind of annoying to have to remember to keep checking the game itself to see if I need to do anything.
I just hope we get an epic update soon. why aren't other Devs copying this format? The sky is the limit for these turn based racing games. Ive seen some awesome ideas and I just wish they were a little faster at implementing just some of them. A win/loss tracker would be cool. Bragging rights you know? If anyone wants to race start one up with me username: dizzyjw
Definitely add me if you're ever up for a game. I'll put up a good fight xP. Send an invite to backtothis, heheh.
7 invites since my last post xP. Hit me up for a game if anyone else is interested, heheh. Tired of playing Words with Friends as my asynch game xD.
Any word on trying to improve notifications for turns? I used to love this game, but haven't played it lately because of frustrations of not knowing when it's "my turn". Yes, I could boot it up and see, but the notifications made it a lot easier...and now I get none.
This game is great. Buggy here and there, but enjoyable. I just feel that it's about time to add a leaderboard. Even doodle jump has a leaderboard. Oh yeah another thig I'd like improved would be the replay camera during top view camera view. Maybe keep the replay buttons onscreen while in top down view. It's hard to push replay last move then quickly tap top down view button. Especially on short shots. Overall amazing game I just want leaderboards!
I'm loving Disc Drivin' and have been for a while now. But lets please get on with an update. Leaderboards and achievements (or at least game stats) please. Better graphics and UI would be a plus. The devs have done a wonderful job with the asynchronous play but they've had a long grace period now with no meaningful updates. I hope they get the ball rolling soon or else some other copycat game is going to leapfrog them and steal their thunder.
Yeah. And, most importantly: ELO ratings. Something just about *every* asynchronous multiplayer iOS game should have. It's inclusion would add a persistant element that would give many gamers additional incentive to keep playing. Carcassonne and UniWar are two splendid examples of ELO ratings in work in asynchronous iOS games.
I love this game. I hate when people quit when there losing. If you down for a game hit me up. (ak47killa123)
Just won a four player on a pretty sick shot. One of the guys I was playing with posted it on youtube. Probably not that interesting to you guys, but here is the link anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riJsJZ0plYs
Agree, in need of an update, a few of the regulars I play against have stopped playing now, bored with the same tracks
Now that GC will support turn-based multiplayer in iOS 5, I imagine Disc Drivin's lead in this style of game will diminish. I expect more games will implement this style of gameplay and DD will be toast. UNLESS the devs pick up the pace and release some exciting new content!
I don't think game developers should be on the hook for ongoing updates and new content for their $3 games. DD is a fun game as-is, and my friends and I play it all the time. That said, there are a couple of glaring omissions from the game. Chief among them is lack of leaderboards and ranked play. Gamecenter would help with both of these, and I'm wondering if the developer is thinking of jumping onto GC. The game could definitely benefit from some new tracks, which I think the developer should plan for release at the same time leaderboards are added. along with a big sale (maybe even a free weekend) to get the game some new buzz. I also think the developer made a mistake in not making this a universal app, which I commented on earlier in this thread. So, we are left with a lot of questions. Unfortunately the developer has lately chosen not to keep us updated on planned updates.
