Well, I actually prefer to play it live-ish. I find it more fun when the game goes quickly. Mind you, I still like it when it's not going fast, just not as much. For one thing, when you're playing live, people have a tendency to chat/smack-talk/joke a lot more. Those long winded games are often pretty silent. I enjoy the chat perhaps as much as the game.

I just thought of a fun little change to the game, I'd like the bombs to be identified with the colour of the person who dropped it, or a meassage that pops up on the screen to tell you who just blew you off the track when you hit a bomb. You could take this further and award energy to the successful bomb dropper with an acompanying message, and if you hit your own bomb everyone else gets a full meter.

Pixelocity, please impliment a vote to kick player option, and add the option to set timeout time at game setup stage, 8 days is way too long. I'm currently on lap 2 of a game thats been running for 4 weeks cos some dick thinks playing a move every 3 or 4 days is ok, and this is the final round in a tournament setup in this forum

Pixelocity, can you add a "Refresh" button in the games currently playing screen? I know that it should be a push work but, I usually restart the app just to refresh the matches, and a refresh button or something could better! You could do it the same way that you can refresh the e-mail inbox app, like sliding the finger in the top of the screen. :p

Yes. It's nice when you have the time to sit around and play turn after turn with someone online.

Not everyone has that kind of time so it's nice to play when you can. I can assure you that I will not take over one day, let alone and hour if I can help it to take my turn.

And I have a fulltime job, have 2 young kids and don't have too much time to sit on my butt for even one hour during the day to play a game. That's why it's nice to just be able to take it out of my pocket real quick, take my turn, and go about my business for the day.

I stay on top of my races and never leave anyone hangin over an hour if I can help it, anyone I've played so far can attest to that.

But for an example. I'm currently in a race with a guy from Sweden. Well, it's almost midnight there when it's 5pm where I live, so he goes to sleep and then I sleep and we catch up to one another the next day. I'm not sure how many players I'm in contest with around the world but I do know that when I go to bed at night I make sure all my turns are taken and when I wake up the next morning I have atleast 5-10 turns to take, so time differences are definatley a factor.

But with all that said, I will say that I do hate it when I have some one that leaves me hangin for 4-5 days then takes their turn when I could have been possibly racing with someone more active, which is preferrable to me. I don't want to forfeit and give them the win.

Oh and again...Pixelocity please update with a better way to track wins and losses, I like looking at my records as well as seeing others records as well.

    Thank you. =)

OH! And sign up to play in the disc drivin league people! This is growing pretty well and it could be BIG(ger)!!! DDLeague.spruz.com Season 1 begins after valentines day!!! Bring it!!!!

no way id pay for a game I cant play. all it takes is 20 inactive people and you no longer have a playable game, and no way to delete inactive people leaves you only able to play with yourself.

until the dev fixes this incredible limitation, they wont get a penny from me. as soon as they do, ill buy.

I've already made the same complaint (on videogamegeek.com), and the developer said that randoms time out (unclear if game ends or if opponent simply loses turn, but even in the case of the latter you can resign on your turn) after 5 days inactivity (custom opponents get 8 days).

    http://www.videogamegeek.com/thread/614444/random-online-opponent-matchup-coming-soon

Now my only request is: release notes, so we don't complain about things that already have a solution that we just haven't witnessed yet!

Ok, I love this game and it's totally worth the asking price for the paid version... but... "Bump in the Road". What in the heck were you thinking with that course? :) I hate that thing with a passion. It takes forever and is just frustrating with no payoff. Begone "Bump in the Road"... or at least let us opt out of certain courses when selecting randomly.

Thanks thatmarkguy for explaining. Yes, the auto-resign is undocumented right now, and it's the most commonly asked question, so I think we need to find a place in the game to mention it, or at least on a FAQ on our website.

I'm pretty sure it must have been mentioned before somewhere in this thread, but nevertheless:

Why don't you make a timer option for new matches, i.e. when setting up a new match you can choose that each turns needs to be completed within an arbitrarily set time period (say, anything from one minute up to three days or so) and if someone doesn't make their move within this time frame, they'd be kicked from the game.

Of course, when doing so, you'd need to change the behavior of matchmaking a bit, since you would need to give opponents the option to decline invites to matches with a set timer for each move. Actually, I think having to actually say yes to an invite would be a nice feature anyway (again, look how Carcassonne implemented this). I think it's a but strange someone can search for your name, start a match and there's nothing you can do about it even if you don't want to play. (I realize this is not a real problem since a resign doesn't affect your statistics negatively because there are none. ;))

I love this idea and second the suggestion to the devs as well. I have lots of matches that are more than 5 days old and cannot play more because we are limited to 20 matches. :(

seyoon, random opponents will auto-resign if they haven't played in 5 days, and custom opponents will auto-resign after 8 days of non-play. So those old games won't stay in your list forever. Click on games older than these times to complete the auto-resign process.

Don't you think thats way too long? everyone I know who plays is struggling to start any new games with the 20 game limit and and a load of really slow moving games.

Thanks for the clarification. 5 days then. Personally I think 5 days is fine. Others might want a shorter time frame. I wonder if its possible to have an option in settings of 1, 2, 3, 5 or even 7 days. That would be most welcoming. Oh yeah, + 1 on the suggestion of a refresh button. Thanks again.

You know I came up with a great idea, but it would be a huge undertaking.... So you start with the 20 game limit... Every win gets you some experience points, and when u level up, your game limit raises.
It's something one of my other fav. Asynchronous multiplayer games (dominion) does.

Just an idea... Oh and don't forget customized discs :)

Agreed! I've suggested this in numerous post as well.

I've never created a game myself but you would think this wouldn't be a huge undertaking to simply add some stats.

It could be as simple as having a bar under the 'disc drivin' title at the top of your screen with, Wins: 000 Losses: 000.

Or it could be more detailed GTA style and be a whole seperate screen showing times jumped, bombs hit, oil slicks hit, turbos hit, etc, etc...

Maybe that's asking for a bit much though, hehe.

I would simply like to see my statistics for winning and losing. I have no idea how many races I've won or loss, just the last 10 or however many it shows, I can't remember. Don't get me wrong, I'll say it over and over, I love the game but not having stats of any kind sort of take something away from it for me.

Maybe pixelocity already has something in the works, hope so.

(and one more small small suggestion: play tracks in reverse? No, it's not more tracks but they could be played differently, adding a little variety. Of course the turbos would need to face the 'other' direction. lol)

That would be great. I wouldn't put the turbos in reverse though - they aren't placed such that they'd be useful going that way anyway. I'd still have them go the way they go so they're obstacles to avoid - hitting them sends you flying backwards. I'd except that in places where they'd be virtually impossible to avoid, though (like the narrow run in Sprint).

Something would have to be done about track-wide ramps, too (Hang Time would be a real challenge in reverse as it is).

Just had something very strange happen in one of my races.

I'm racing a buddy of mine and I'm nearly over half a lap ahead of him. I've just taken my turn, set my phone down, get the notification that he has went and it is now my turn again. I open the race and notice that for some reason I'm now in 2nd place. I figured maybe he made some incredible jump and got ahead of me.

But that's not the case, SOMEHOW we got swapped! He's now in first where I had left off and I'm half a lap down in his previous spot!

Uhhhhh, anyone else have this happen to them yet?

Atleast it's challenging again since I get to chase him down! lol
