Two Digital Chocolate games are showing in the iPhone AppStore application tho not available yet. They are: - Chocolate Shop Frenzy (there's a Free version) - $7.99 - Crazy Penguin Catapult (there's a free version)- $4.99 >> Chocolate Shop Frenzy: excellent graphics, nice gameplay and easy to pick up and play due the in game tutorial: 5/5 >> Crazy Penguin Catapult: fun and unique game but graphics could be better: 4/5 More about the games in their PC version, including video: - Chocolate Shop Frenzy - Crazy Penguin Catapult There are some interesting facts about Trip Hawkins, head of Digital Chocolate, that you can read in this interview:
Good news. Digital Chocolate is a pretty good developer. I've played a lot of their games on my old phone.
Those games look terrific. I hope the chocolate one will have the same content, I think that could easily be translated to the iPhone.
Trip Hawkins... He is late to the party and he's been wrong about a lot of things. But DChoc's games are pretty cool and i'm pretty sure Mr Hawkins didnt' made any of them himself.
Yay! I'll be downloading the free Chocolate Shop one now. Looks quite a bit like Diner Dash. I can't view the penguin one... the App Store's being a jerk. :l
Wow! This game seems just great! By the way, about the games mentioned in this topic: >> Chocolate Shop Frenzy: excellent graphics, nice gameplay and easy to pick up and play due the in game tutorial: 5/5 >> Crazy Penguin Catapult: fun and unique game but graphics could be better: 4/5
It looks great however $8? Yes Diner Dash is $8 it did hit $5 for quite sometime and got it at that price. Sally's Sallon was $5 and been $1 for last couple weeks or so now and that's well worth a $1. I think I'll get this eventually but gotta wait for the price drop. Glad they gave a demo version of it. edit: talk about a short demo...geez.
Keep the title. It's not available internationally, at least not in Sweden, so you can still call it "almost" available. When will developers learn that there can be an interest on their apps outside the US?
Digital Chocolate has released a Crazy Penguin Catapult Lite version so you can try it before purchasing it.
Chocolate Shop Frenzy seems like a good game, but I agree that demo is so short that it was hard to get a real feel for it. I kept making that fish specialty choc. a few times and then realized that the demo was over in less than 5 minutes. If every level plays that fast even if you bought the full version it would go really quick. I don't mind paying for a quality game, but this one at $8.00 has price cut written all over it, so I'm definitely going to wait for that. I'll try that Crazy Penguin Lite to see what that's like.
I've purchased it after trying the lite version. I've just started the 4th month in Story Mode. Story mode has (only?) 12 level, well an entire year to play. The first one is more a tutorial. If you complete September then you unlock Endless Shift mode, but since I'm still in the 4th month I can't tell you nothing about it. The perfect score is not easy to get and part of the game intrinsic replay value is the ability to play any past month and get it. The game goal is not hard to get so far tho. Story mode has a paced rhythm because you play by week and each week does not take too long. So far I really enjoy the game because I liked the approach. It has a great interface with awesome graphics. In resume a top-notch presentation. Unfortunately I didn't play any other sim game so I can't make a comparison. I don't have much free time to play so this is a perfect game for me to enjoy. 5/5
Thanks, I know. I tried the "demo" which, as previously mentioned, is very short and doesn't really let you get a feel for the real game IMO. Carlos, thanks for your overview of the game!
