    i heard on a podcast that something like 60% or xbox's die kinda hard to belive

    80% of the people that posted have had their console die.

    Yeah I saw that at Yahoo but remember they only conducted a survey of 1,000 and doesn't support the entire audience but on a eerie similar note, GI had recently taken a survey of thousands which showed an average of 52% I believe. It's sad to hear this as this was probably the largest thing holding it back from being the obvious #1 console, by then sony had reduced its price and a wider variety of titles were released weakening the gap between these two by the time Microsoft rebounded.

    The official number for the MS repair centers was supposed to be 33%, then apparently after a few hardware changes it dropped significantly... I'm still not seeing much difference to be honest. Even if 33% was correct, that's only for the people that bothered to send it in and doesn't account for people who got an exchange at the store or simply bought a new console.

    The only problem I ever had was little black dots flickering on and off all over the screen... I fixed it with a restart...

    I'm on my third 360 in two years. Neither of the consoles that crapped out were still under warranty, but the RROD always constitutes a free replacement console.
