ooh right, the first half of District 9 was like a documentary but then it switched. I also never got how the shaky induced motion sickness
Because when you watch a movie or TV you tend to fix on particular points of interest -- characters or whatever the focus of the scene happens to be. With shaky cam it's wobbling and swiveling shaking about. It doesn't give you much to fix on, you end up trying to follow specific points of interest only to have them weave around the screen like a drunken ant. It doesn't give me motion sickness, but 90 minutes of ocular calisthenics does give me a headache and an overwhelming desire to kick the director in the junk.
honestly - I didn't enjoy it. It felt amateur and awkward most of the time, but not in the good way. It was also far from scary and not even very tense at any point throughout. It felt long and drawn out to the point of tedium. All that said - I've got friends that loved it and said it scared them shitless. So it is a matter of taste. ------ As for the shaky camera direction - I don't get motion sick, but I don't particularly enjoy an hour and a half of gimmicky camera work. Not to say I don't like the camera direction style - I really enjoyed Cloverfield.
I was too afraid to watch the trailer..so i showed to to my cat and she licked the monitor. I dont really like horror movies that much anyways. What is it even about?
Bring on District 10 which will more than likely be the name of the movie, I mean, really. It isn't that hard to figure out.
The name of the camp they were relocated to was actually called District 10 so I'm siding with Donovan on this one If it happens at all.
Ahh district 9....... The director of green zone and the bournes uses the real camera style and it's awesome. I love his work. Can't remember his name though....
