But it’s popular and well received from what I’ve seen so downloading now and hopefully I’ll be able to check it out later. gaberaph and Lull4by like this. If it had dropped on iOS when it got announced i would have said yes absolutely $5 is a steal but there are just so many other games doing this now that I can’t really recommend it. naghihimutuc Well-Known Member Mar 11, 2020 111 58 28 #4 naghihimutuc, Jul 7, 2022 I’m kinda liking it. It feels like Dicey Elementalist with a more minimalist art style and a lot more varied character class gimmicks and play styles. But I think it needs some random events to spice things up? I’m unlocking a bunch of character classes and haven’t gotten thru the events yet so I’m not sure if those exist in the expansions/episodes. But so far so good! I’m liking the humor and the numbers games! I might play with my 10 year old to help with his math hohoho. naghihimutuc Well-Known Member Mar 11, 2020 111 58 28 #5 naghihimutuc, Jul 7, 2022 …but as far as visuals go, Dicey Elementalist wins this one hahaha. But Dicey Dungeons does have that one time purchase of five bucks for a lot of content; DE makes you pay with the character classes one by one though it does have a pretty long end-game content. ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #6 ste86uk, Jul 7, 2022 @SuperSpooky what would you recommend on iOS over this? There are some games like DD: previously mentioned dicey Elementalist and basically any card roguelike game like Slay The Spire, Steamworld Quest etc. the last one is my favorite because of the setting ste86uk Well-Known Member May 9, 2012 6,774 1,000 113 #9 ste86uk, Jul 7, 2022 I did buy it already and will get chance to start it tonight very soon now, looks like I’ve tried Elementalist but I don’t really remember it so can’t be that good but I’ll take a look again. Slay the Spire I spent a good 50 odd hours on, on my switch before selling it but for some reason never got into the iOS version. Steamworld I started and never finished too… I have this issue where I buy games, play them. Then keep buying new games and don’t finish my other games like an endless vicious circle cyllwynn likes this. I also would love to be able to play it in portrait, but it‘s a PC port. And a fantastic one. Played the beta a ton, and I‘m happy it finally arrived in the App Store. Frankly, I think folks who are asking for portrait mode are reacting to how well the gameplay fits a touch-based mobile platform. It’s almost like it was made for a phone — except for the landscape orientation. I played the beta too — it’s a brilliant game. So glad it’s finally out. Since I also think that (one handed) portrait gaming is THE one standalone feature of mobile gaming. And I see myself specifically looking for this when checking out games. And if this was a new title, then going for landscape would be kind of a crime. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
