I had my dog at the vet earlier and he had his DHPP booster vaccine.
Anyone else do this for there animal?

He isn't acting normal right now, not running or eating or playing.

He's shaking and doesn't want to be held. This dog loves to lay with you 24/7 so this is very odd.

Depending on how small the dog, the more longer it will take for it to wear off. After a shot from DHPP it can cause allergic reactions or some other minor side effects. It could be sleepy, less active and just plain mopey. Wait it out a few days as it is natural for them to act that way. If things continue to persist after a 3 days, then I would contact your vet again. If you notice any vomiting, diarrhea, or pale gums such as any other color than pink then contact them immediately as it could be Autoimmune disease, cancer, vasculitis...

So basically the not running, eating, or playing is normal after a shot but the shaking could indicate extreme pain. Lightly touch where the shot was inserted and see if it "yelps". If it does I recommend a small dose of children's benedryl.

For those who don't know what it is
-Distemper virus - Attacks the lungs and affects the function of the brain and spinal cord. Disease can be fatal.
-Hepatitis - Affects the liver and can cause loss of vision.
-Parainfluenza - Respiratory virus that causes coughing.
-Parvovirus - Attacks the lining of the intestinal tract and damages the heart of very young puppies. Can be fatal.

Yeah my dog was out of it for hours. Assuming there are no allergic reations he's probably just feeling weird and it's confusing him a bit.
