Reason I ask is when I email developers suggesting why don't you allow access to google maps without exiting the app the typical response I get is Apple doesn't allow it. Then I have to list apps showing them it is very much allowed and being used by developers right now within their apps. Apple much do a piss poor job of communicating with developers about what is allowed and isn't allowed. True the end user has to have OS 3.0 but I believe those with OS 2.x it just exits the app and up pops maps, mail or safari. But for all those OS 3.0 users don't deny us ability to email, open safari, or access google maps within the app. True still can't run in background and I believe that's where the initial confusion lies.
