Hello all, My name is Guillaume loquin, i'm a french 3d character artist. I wanted to start a devlog about a little game i'm doing during my freetime. Run-A-Whale is an infinite runner with simple touch control and a unique texture-less aesthetics. I'm working on it for almost 3 months now but my time is limited so the game will evolve slowly. Key Features : -Simple but deep gameplay. -Unique visual style. -Day & night cycle. -Customization. -Pirates ! . more to come...
Hello, i've been lazy these days but i found time to do some birds for the game... and an mockup for the app icon : Cheers !
Thanks a lot, the game is not ready for testing yet. I need to set a tweeter account and a blog, but for now, you can follow the development here or on TigSource. little update today, i did a first integration of the seagulls :
Thanks ! I will do my best Today i started to design hats that you will be able to unlock while playing. These are so fun to make Any hats ideas are welcome !
Looks delightful. IMHO....Would have been nice to see jumping fish for the whale to "eat" rather than coins to collect. Still will be a must have though! Looks fantastic!
thank you, i've already planed to add fishes as special boost items. Today i started a new "random mini boss event" with a giant octopuss : i still need to rig and animate it before any further integration.
Lovely last screenshot with that octopus. The ambient gives me a fuzzy warm feeling i had with Alto's Adventure. Agree with "coins again", boring and not an innovative decision, sorry. I also would rather eat little fishes, plancton etc. instead, and for boosts some little squids, baby sharks, wooden legs...or directly some little Captain Ahab's. And a big yes to tight controls. Runners stand or fall with it, you know that. Keep up the good work, cheers.
Thanks for your comment, i will think about something else for the coins, but it needs to be very identifiable... I made some progress with the octopus : i'm still working on the gameplay. Cheers !
This looks awesome dude. I'll definitely be checking this out Are you an indie, or do you have your own team for this ?
