Downloaded this one this morning. If you like lawyer turn based games this ones for you! Good game and for free it's awesome!
In one case he's defending an Asian hot dog vender that's accused of using questionable ingredients that made local pet owners upset? Wow. I'm glad I didn't pay for this and I regret sending the freebie notice to several Asian friends.
The "random die rolls" combined with the "restart without penalty" options limits the gameplay a bit. Even in the later levels, you just need to come up with a strategy that COULD work and reset until you get the rolls that you need for it to succeed. There's also a couple overpowered abilities like Reverse Psychology that can completely shut down certain opponents (like the one whose attack value always equals her health). Still, it's an entertaining ride as long as you don't take the characters and the plot too seriously. I consider the people you're defending and the banter at the start of each stage to be surreal to the point of absurdity, as there's pretty much a character to offend ANYONE in there if you don't view it in that light. Like others, I'd noticed the game when it first came out, but wasn't sure how well the game mechanics would work and it eventually fell under the radar and I forgot about it. If there had been a "lite" version I'd have given that a shot, and if there was a "tip jar" option added in an update I'd probably donate a dollar or two to the company.
I didn't think I was going to enjoy this, but this game is topes. The story is funny, the art style is charming, and the gameplay is solid. I've worked in about 2 hours and I'm really enjoying it.
Btw-I did buy this when it was released. The gameplay gets a bit boring; but the atmosphere, art style, music, etc. are all top notch.
Downloaded, played, completed. It was a fun game and of appropriate length (I think I spent 3 hours more or less). I have one question though: the art looks VERY familiar but I cannot remember where I have seen it before. A cartoon? Another game? Does anyone know?
