Wouldn't a true cheapskate just pirate everything? The main thing this freel deal does is get the game to move up the charts enough so when it goes back to paid it's suddenly very visible and maybe captures the attention of the millions of gamers out there on iOS that don't visit sites like TA or look for bargains. Those that were really interested in the game probably didn't wait this long with serious plans to buy it soon or even another year from now.
Why does there seem to be never-ending comments on members' financial situations lately? It's called budgeting. I spent 92,500 USD on wednesday. If I can save a buck I will.
What the hell did you buy? The whole App Store? Or a couple of new cars? (And if the latter, and I have one if them? )
Yes I meant mentality , thank you. I'm not attacking all or either a particular forum member(s), my post is ironically oriented to most people who probably aren't even registered here and wait for apps to get discounted to 0.99 or go free of charge. That is why I always roll my eyes when looking at AppZapp comments ( and some here from time to time).Paying someone for his hard work ( even a low price not equal to his working hours on app ) feels better than getting it for free and discarding it later on as it doesn't hold same value to you as something you bought. You don't have to use caps lock, I know most senior members buy most of the week releases , be it either for them or for their kids or rest of the family and while most others would call them a money - trowing fools I highly value what they're doing , not just for them , but for whole App Store community.
One of the most overrated games to come out on the AppStore, only good thing about it was the trailer and the graphics.
So is this thread is now the do gooder freebie police. Man between you and squaby dueling for the captian spot. So if Burger King has a sale are you going to rag on the mentalisms of kids gettin a burger for a buck?
I agree completely. I have dozens of unfinished games on my iPad and with the expansion that just came out for magic 2014 I won't be playing them anytime soon. If I see a good game go free I'm going to grab it.
You are entitled to your opinion, but I will respectfully disagree. It may be a bit overrated, but one of the most overrated? Flat out exaggeration (or we genuinely feel very differently about this game)
I expressed my opinion with which you can agree or disagree, but adding pointless examples doesn't make you a person who is right.
Probably shouldn't drag myself into this. But what hurts the App Store is games that go free or deeply discounted within a week or two. THAT feeds the freeloaders who just want to wait for cheap games. But I, like others, buy tons of games and just can't afford to get everything. So if there's something I'm on the fence about, I put it in the back of my mind for the future. The problem is that there's so many good new games that come out, the chances of me actually getting to that list get slimmer and slimmer. So I may have never gotten this game simply because it may never cross my mind again as I want to get the next big thing. And I wasn't sure about it. So now I will check it out and the dev isn't losing money on it because I probably wouldn't have bought it. BUT if I really like the game, I'd be more likely to want to buy the devs next game. Nothing wrong with getting freebies, particularly of games we may not have bought. And, sorry, even a $3 game does add up over time if I bought every game I was slightly interested in.
I couldn't have said it better myself. Actually I was just waiting for a sale and I would've bought it.
100% agree, this is how I feel as well. I buy what I want and the rest is either forgotten or hits the watch list on here, appsfire, or AppZapp. With now thousands of apps in my collection its harder and harder to ever bother buying games I'm only marginally interested in. Plus with RPGs that eat massive numbers of hours and the backlog of RPGs in my collection, only something really interesting that i want to play right then or Dragon Quest (my favorite rpg series) is going to get my dollars near launch.
Actually it's quite easy since it's turn based and you plan your moves. There's a little bit of luck involved but you can eliminate that with strategy. As for replayability, I have to say there is almost none. Once you finish the game it doesn't let you go back and keep earning money so you can't max out all your skills. Instead, you have to start a new game. The only reason you'd want to do this anyway is to see the other endings but most people just watch them on youtube. I wish they did make it more replayable though. IMO, the value in this game is in the humor and voice acting before each case. The game itself is pretty much a turn based RPG game so gameplay is nothing new. Once you've seen the scenes, there's no real need to see it again. Not having any IAPs is nice since they could have easily tied some cases to DLC. For free, it's definitely worth trying out. As usual, I see there's a lot of pointless discussion here about how some people think everyone should pay full price. Why not talk about that in a specific thread instead of discussing it in every other thread?
I actually got a whopper on sale for a buck. Had to wait 30 minutes in line though, wasn't worth it, and they didn't even have ice water cups, they ran out.
