I'm a bit surprised it didn't come out tonight/tomorrow, seeing as Thursday seems to be the day of the week that has most major releases... Maybe they're shooting for a Friday release? If not, they still have until Monday Ginger it out before the end of January.
yeah i thought it would be out yesterday or today at the latest, but still a few left so we will see.
I'm not too sure... I see no reason for it to be 3GS+, but that's exactly what I thought (and still think) about Dead Rising. I think it was more or less due to it being somewhat open world and having a decent amount of zombies wandering around the area at once, as opposed to fighting a few enemies at a time in Devil May Cry. They haven't made any mention of it being for newer devices only, so I'm leaning towards it being compatible with older devices.
I don't think the graphics look good enough to make it 3GS+ only. When you look at Dead Space, it makes perfects sense to guess it's not compatible with iPod Touch 2G, but DMC4 Refrain doesn't look all that amazing to justify such exclusion.
You confused Dead Space with Dead Rising... Dead Space runs on older devices as well, although with reduced graphics. Dead Rising, on the other hand, has pretty crappy graphics even on an iPod Touch 4, and still only runs on 3GS+, and was made by Capcom, who is also making DMC4. Then again, the graphics look exactly like Resident Evil 4's, which ran smoothly even on an iPod 1G.
I'm guessing, like Capcoms other titles, that there won't be any "Retina Display" support for DMC4-R. Capcom, Street Fighter 4 aside, have been quite lazy, although they did add Retina Display support for Resident Evil 4's icon on iPhone 4/iPod touch 4th Gen ...
Yeah... The new Resident Evil 4 icon looks great, but the graphics look even worse without Retina support, which can be overlooked but is a bummer. You forgot that Dead Rising is Retina supported though. It seems like their newer games support Retina while they're completely neglecting older ones (Street Fighter aside). I think theyll have support for it in DMC as well.
Let's hope for midnight Sunday then! Retina Dusplay omission aside, I'm really looking forward to this one. BTW, the only 'big game' I haven't got yet is Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. I've only £4.00 ($7.00) left on my iTunes account and I'm at a quandry. What do I get, Lara Croft or Devil May Cry? Both are missing Retina and appear a little way off of genuine greatness, so which should I plump for??
Devil May Cry, mostly because it's the awesome, over the top action from Devil May Cry and not another dual-stick shooter. I've always preferred it over the Tomb Raider series to begin with, but even moreso now seeing as TR turned into a dual stick shooter.
can't wait to start eating some demons as dante again, this game was super fun on consoles, will be awesome to take it around with me.
