Don't forget mindnumbingly stupid and so easily distracted ( reference to his constantly changing point) that a game would never be finished
How can you possibly say you don't want 3D? It's like saying you're against progress. You're the Catholic Church in the (I'm not sure exactly when, it's summer now, I don't have to think >>; ) 1700s or so. They didn't want Galileo's discoveries of Jupiter's moons and other heavenly bodies to be put out in public, just because it would change how people looked at things, as well as themselves, making the Church less important. They also condemned people who supported Heliocentric theories, how the sun was viewed as the center of the universe, not the Earth (sure it wasn't correct, but they were getting closer o.o). ( Keep in mind this is purely an example, no offense is meant to any religions :O ) Do you want to be the Catholic Church, OP? Being against the progress of mankind as a whole? People make new discoveries every day. We move forward that way. And there is rarely a new idea that is without a few bugs when it starts out. Space shuttles and rockets went through a lot of trial and error before they actually worked out, but they finally got it right, after working on how to fix the jagged edges to their ideas. Would you be against space flight, or even normal flight through the air, just because it took some time to work out how it works, and how to make it work well? If I'm not mistaken, we're still in the middle of developing aeronautics and flight. We are also still new to the device we come to this site to love, the iPhone. So you think about that. Progress can come slowly, it doesn't always happen quickly, and often it comes through trial and error, many different ideas put together to finally make good games like Real Racing, Star Defence, etc. History has told us that time will tell, and we are already beginning to see results. Consider yourself lucky we already have some good looking games. /endrebuttal Also, I'm surprised that no onme mentioned Let's Golf. That's a fantastic game
The comparison between PSP and 3Gs is faulty because: 1. The CPUs are of different architecture, so direct comparisons based on clockspeed alone are not really accurate. 2. Sony's GPU specs are complete bull****, just like the specs they originally listed for PS2 (and PSone before that). 33 million pps is nonsense because Sony, as always, is basically counting flat shaded polys sans lighting floating in the air doing nothing in a test with no AI or other such things running. PowerVR, on the other hand, tries to determine in game situation specs, but actually undershoot their specs, as they did with Dreamcast's GPU last gen. When the NAOMI arcade board was released it was stated to be 1.5 million pps, then when Dreamcast came out, using the same GPU with less RAM mind you, it was 3 million pps, and actually the DC was capable of doing twice that in actual games with all effects, etc. (Test Drive Le Mans was rated at over 5 million pps with all effects going off and maintaining 30fps without a drop in framerate). Also the fillrate for PowerVR is hard to determine because they use that deferred rendering stuff (only rendering what is visible on screen). Sony's PSP GPU doesn't do tbdr.
I have been doing some 3D development for the iPhone recently, and trust me ... this baby has a lot of power in it Complaining for the lack of one (ok, important) feature such as anti-aliasing is pretty dumb.
