Shouldn't Apple make devs sign a contract that says with every major OS update they will update their app to be suited to run on it? I feel if I pay good money for an app I'd like it to utilise the new features of the OS, or at least to work on it!
A good dev will update. If they don't, who's to say Apple should force them too? If the developer's listening, demand will eventually get him off his lazy arse
I don't think they could really do that in case of unforseen issues popping up. If a company had a problem altering their code to get the game to work with the update it'd be unfair to force them to waste time and money fixing their entire back catalog once every year.
I'd imagine Apple would do this again to insure that they maintain a certain level of quality with apps. Not the same as a written contract but as a dev you don't HAVE to upgrade... just don't expect to be selling your game on the appstore for much longer
Would be nice if IOS4 workde on my first genipod touch too but it certainly is not going to happen. This is real simple, developers still making money from an app or game will update it, those not making money are not putting time into something that is not making money. It is a business and they look to make a profit. P.S. As I was typing, VeganTnT brought up a great point, nice find.
Would be nice if Apple released updates that devs put out to fix a bug with iOS 4. I am thinking of you Pro Zombie Soccer! its been over a freaken week.
