I would say so. I though the mini would extend the life of the 2 for a bit longer but this situation is bizarre and a bad sign for iPad 2 users.
I mainly play XCOM on my iphone.. I guess it depends on people.. Xcom plays great on small creen though..

Sad truth. I'll wait for the first impressions and the verification that's not running on an iPad 2. I will try to buy it through the AppStore (Germany) when I'm back from work. I'll post the result. Keeping my fingers crossed...

I've only played through the first mission, but first impressions are pretty stellar. It seems to have a remarkable level of depth to it. The controls have been great, and I love how well the stealth elements from the console titles have carried into this. The biggest disappointment for me is that I'm playing it on my iPhone 5 and not my iPad 2. I've gotten to the point where gaming on the small screen doesn't hold the same allure.
Oh thought you were asking what this meant in general for iPad 2 users. The game definitely won't install on your device (idk maybe if you're JB) because it isn't listed in the app details under supported devices, which means the AppStore on your device or iTunes on your computer won't even let you try to install.
I'm at work on windows. Here I can't get to the game's page using the link as usual. I'll try later at home on the iPad. If I don't come back it means it's really not available here (like XCOM for some reason unknown) and I killed myself.
Parts of the AppStore's been redesigned, and is probably still going through changes, and iOS 7 is around the corner. I think (hope!) that Apple also have changed the way the requirements list works, or that it is undergoing changes up until the iOS 7 release perhaps?
As I said earlier, devs have no say in supported devices. The list is generated based on what hardware and iOS version the app requires. That's why sometimes a game will say it supports certain devices but the devs will write in the description that it does not. They have no direct control over that field in the app details. In addition to that, they also say iPad 3 and up in the app description. So basically both Apple and SE are saying no Deus Ex for iPad 2 users. Interesting thought. I'm also wondering if maybe SE gets special treatment because... well, they're SE.
Crap, I just checked "br" (right?) and it doesn't show up. Says "Um momento", while every other store I've tried seems to work (lb, us, gb, au) :/ Not cool.
Downloading now, will report if works on iOS beta. Edit - Runs fine on iOS 7 Beta 3. Tis very pretty. Good voice casting it seems, and decent lip syncing. Shucks. Music makes me think of Tron
