I understand that but if you look for a refund and the reason you give is that the game gives a pop up that says it won't run on jailbroken devices, what do you think you'll be told considering jailbreaking voids your warranty and isn't supported by developers? I was attempting to be subtle about a certain scenario where someone might reasonably look for and expect a refund. To be more clear, there are certain internal Apple rules and situations where refunds cannot and will not be applied.
Ok. Picked this up this morning for my iPhone 5. 3 words ladies and gents. It Is Great. It's great to see a AAA game that isn't a port, but instead it's own thing. We haven't seen this kind of production value since Dead Space in my opinion. Overal the game performs magnificently and looks fantastic even on the compartatively small screen of the iPhone 5. The story line is good (from what I've seen) but nothing to out of the box. Everything has voice acting and all the cutscenes are rendered in real time using the games engine. One good thing is it isn't too bad of a battery hog. Playing for about an hour resulted in about 8% battery loss, which isn't terrible for the level of quality that this game has. It's a blast to play, plenty of stealth/run n gun choices to be made and it all flows nicely using gestures and contextual buttons to do your bidding on the poor guards. AI is a little lack luster. I have many times accidentally hit the fire button (my own fault, I had just changed where the button was) in a corridor near where guards are, freaked out that they had heard me, only to peek in and see them calm as can be. Animation wise, the game is fairly limited. A silent attact from the front will always be the same, wether or not you are behind cover or running up to someone. Which occasionally left me puzzled why the guard 3 ft away didn't see me pop out from cover and snap the neck of his friend. Overal it love the game and while it has some kinks, this is a $7 title for a moble. Fine by me. The Verdict: 8/10
How old is the video on the TA front page? A representative from SE do say, when being asked about if you have to pay real money for ammo etc, "no it's a one time purchase only, priced at $6.99". But looking at the IAP explained over at pocket gamer the game is full with IAP that will get you things like more ammo. According to that review there are some weird difficulty spikes, and couple that with all the IAPs and it looks just like any other crap on the AppStore.
I can tell you you can finish the whole game without using any ammo. Difficulty spikes? Maybe if they try to Rambo their way through enemies. At this point in time, anything with a premium price with any IAP of sorts will look bad. I am pretty sure if they added IAPs to be able to buy money in KOTOR, there will be reviews along the lines of "IAP to buy everything in the Yavin shop too early? Pfft... 1-star"
The main reason I want this is because of stealth. I've played to many "there's an enemy, shoot em before you get shot!" games, and while they are fun, they can get very repetitive.
Making up a dictionary definition to suit your argument doesn't really prove anything. (And yes, I'm pretty sure you made it up. If it was copied and pasted from a dictionary site, noun would be spelled correctly.)
What a great actor, Citizen Kane, and you've got to check out The Third Man if you haven't. Oh yeah and I'm really digging the game. Don't worry about ammo, you get it from dead enemies too.
Knights of the Old Republic. Bioware's classic game based in the Star Wars universe. It remains one of the best RPGs of all time (IMO), and was recently ported to iPad.
Whelp, I keep getting crashes on my mini running ios 7 beta 3. Restarted and it's still crashing, right after you start a game and the mission briefing is playing out. Couldn't get XCom to work either, I wonder if this will be a bigger issue once ios 7 rolls out to everyone else. Any chance any 7 mini users have this game working? *edit* got the game to work by skipping the first cutscenes. Game seems to run fine and so far so good!
The Third Man is a phenomenal movie. Highly recommended. Back on topic, now that all the hot air has been shanked out of the Pacific Rim game balloon, I know what my line purchase this week will be. Good to hear it's also not too cramped on an iPhone 5, either.
Looks like games are gonna pass the Ipad2/Mini hardware wall now..their gonna miss some sales by doing that.
