Some more info from Pocket Gamer: "Fear not: this game will have no crappy boss fights that force you to fight a certain way. You can go through The Fall without killing a single person, if you so desire. There are no boss fights. In the exploration sections, you'll be able to interact with the world by talking to pedestrians, rooting through trash cans, and taking side-quests. The Fall will contain about five to six hours of content, but you'll need to do at least three playthroughs to see everything. There's also a New Game + mode, where you start from the beginning but get to keep all your stuff." "The title has been worked on for some twelve months now" The Soundtrack is in with some new tracks compised by Mike McCann himself So,so,so ridiculously excited for this. I spent 30 hours on my non lethal playthrough of Human Revolution. It was a blast! The fact that we can't hide bodies is the only downside of the game so far. Other tidbit: There's no inventory to manage.
OMG thanks so much for the info. I can't express how big this is for me. I used to just press pause and marinate in the HR soundtrack. This is gonna put ios gaming on another level
Hellz yeah. Few DE fans here so we have a healthy team to run through to release with. I'm buying the book tomorrow and reloaded the soundtrack onto my iPod. Stoked!!
New article: Deus Ex: The Fall Isn't a Mobile Cash-In It's a good read and SE producer James Wright explains how game is still a full Deus Ex experience , goes in on variety of input/control methods used, what can we expect from story. I like this quote: “In terms of what we’ve set out to create, this is the next game in the Deus Ex series. We chose the mobile platform, but it’s a full game. You’ve got choice-driven gameplay, freedom to explore the world, and the option to take an action or stealth approach to missions.”
Looks pretty. If its available when the Nvidia shield ships then it will definitely be worth picking up. Looks like it will need a controller of some type to play comfortably. The thumbs on the touch screen approach seemed laggy from their demo video
iOS IAP exclusive augmentation weapon option, kill people with your chin. And yeah the soundtrack was awesome, one of the few game soundtracks I'd listen to away from the game.
Publisher, publisher... And to paraphrase a comment I made on another thread, their best move was to buy IO Interactive, Crystal Dynamics and Eidos and make their European branch and then treat them with a hands off approach... And Eidos has always been a great developer well before they were bought by Square Enix, so I don't give much credit to Square Enix on their successes! Lord and lady, this game looks awesome and I can't wait... Now to figure out what games I need to safrifice to make the space. With this and XCom and all the other great releases this year I am happy to be a iPad gamer!
Aaargh. Deus Ex: Human Revolution was my first introduction into this awesome science-fiction universe. Well, it's honestly my only experience with it, too, as I have barely touched the first two games since then But.. I'm getting really sick of Square-Enix's practices with whipping their fans around. I know they didn't develop Human Revolution, but they are the final spot for releasing the game... and I'm getting tired of this. They brought out an awesome and popular game that did very well. Then they announced a port of it on Wii U with all these awesome new features. Then they announced a new Deus Ex game... and it turned out to be an April Fools joke, 8-bit version of the Deus Ex universe. Now they are talking about this mobile version... Granted, this mobile version does look quite interesting. Hopefully it will have the same godly soundtrack as Human Revolution, and a similarly awesome story as well. But I can't take any more announcements like this Why can't they just bring out the next game in the series -cries- Now I know how the Kingdom Hearts fans feel. Waiting for almost a decade for the next big installment, yet 5 or 6 spinoffs being released in the dead period? Not cool, Square-Enix. Not cool Still excited for this one, though!
True! Though I find it even more so if you have played and beaten the first two Deus Ex games. Human Revolution loops back a lot of references and plot that is even more satisfying if you've beaten particularly the first Dues Ex. As a fan, they kind of brought the story full circle. Lots of "aha" moments with character references and events playing out seeing how they go full circle to the original Deus Ex. They did the same thing stir wise with Thi3f as well, wrapping that up as a trilogy with its story coming full circle. I look forward to what hey have to offer with this and Thief 4!
I played for a while last night. I unlocked the social interaction aug. Not sure how I feel about it now. I seems like it takes a lot of the fun out of the dialog choices.
The great thing about the game is that you don't have to augment your social skills! Use the augmentation towards your hacking or stealth skills instead!
Yeah I got a lot of those too. But I've messed up with conversations before and it cost me money for bribes and whatnot that could have been used for praxis kits and stuff, so I figured it would be good to have. I've already upgraded the cloaking ability to full. Not sure how useful having the actual stealth abilities outside of seeing their cones of vision would be. I'll probably upgrade more stealth next. Is there a way to get more than one energy cell to regenerate at a time? I find myself just using the first one over and over because I don't want to have to keep buying consumable energy packs.
